Review 05/23: I returned after more than half to try out the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The Yolk was perfectly runny, the salmon juicy and delicious. The Calamansi Hollandaise gave the dish a nice little Filipino touch and biting freshness. Coffee was still as great as on my last visit. One of the best places to go in Siargao for Coffee and all day Breakfast.
Review 09/22: The place and ambiance is very inviting and the staff super friendly. Also, the coffee and all of the drinks are really delicious.
But, the Katsu Sando was just not good, especially for its quite high price. The Ciabatta was way to chewy and undersized for all those (mostly) soft toppings, so you could barely eat it as a sandwich (something went wrong if you must eat a sandwich with cutlery). The tonkatsu itself was good, but barely noticeable, since it was unfortunately drenched in way too much sweet sauce. I would also recommend to serve the vegs as a side on the plate with a nice dressing, to lessen the load on the sandwich and fill up the real estate on the plate itself. Sometimes, simple is just better.
Anyway, I would still return to sample the other dishes and hope to be more satisfied with the food on my next visit. They do have a wide variety of dishes, including many vegetarian and vegan options. And the coffee is...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about this place. Everything was AMAZING including the delicious iced coffee(best on the island) as well as the iced tea. My bf absolutely loved the passfruit iced tea! After travelling around the Philippines for 3 weeks and eating a lot of "meh" food we were in desperate need of delicious good quality food and we found that at the spotted pig. One particular day we ate there twice lol. My bf could NOT get enough of the Reuban Sandwich and had it 3x LOL. Some other items that we tried were the katsu sandwich, eggs benny, chicken pesto pasta, and the falafel burger. I'm not even a vegan or vegetarian but that burger was Unreal and so flavorful!! The staff was on point every day and were all super friendly and made it a point to chat with us. One server I believe his name was Janiel (sorry if I spelled it wrong) even asked us our names and introduced himself. A few people said this place was expensive but I believe it truly reflects the quality of the food and even then it's not too pricey. We took our friends here that were visiting from Vancouver as well and they LOVED IT Moral of the story....you MUST...
Read moreI had the caramel macchiato, which was delicious. The chocolate cookie was to die for as well as the local sponge cake.
However, I was really disappointed with the Reuben sandwich. I had 4 fragments of bone in my sandwich, and the home-made bread was covered in flour to the point where I had to scrape it off with a knife. Every bite I took, I had flour all over my lips and on my tongue, which wasn't pleasant. The chips were okay but wouldn't order them again. Maybe it was a bad day, but hey, for the price, I was expecting more, unfortunately.
Lastly, the seating inside was very crowded. There are only about 6 tables which can fit 2 people. If all of the tables are full, you are basically sitting arm to arm with the people next to you. I wanted to read a book, drink coffee and eat a meal over lunch but we didn't have the comfort to do so with 2 people at our small table and the cafe full.
Great potential, unfortunately, i was disappointed today. The coffee and baked goods were...
