Came here on 23rd April to celebrate the following day of our engagement / my proposal in Siargao after being enticed by the strong social media (Instagram page).
I booked around 3 days prior advising it would be an engagement / special occasion meal also letting staff know on arrival.
Unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience due to the service.
When we first arrived we were welcomed with friendly staff, but this soon turned south. We ordered 5 dishes asking for two to come as starters and the rest as our mains to share. The starters arrived and within 2 mins of them being put at our table the rest of the food arrived.
Despite our cocktails and water being finished no one came to check on us and ask if we wanted anything else. l attempted to get the staff's attention but were made to feel as welcome as a fart in an elevator.
We were wanting more cocktails and we would have ordered dessert but given the lack of staff interest and an unwillingness to clear any plates from our table we asked for the bill in frustration.
Trying to get any sort of service was like drawing blood from a stone. And yes, to get the bill I had to get up from the table and get a member of staff. When I politely tried to raise the issue that it was a special occasion and we'd had minimal service or attentiveness from staff the member of staff shrugged and responded "I'll get the check". No apology, no suggestion of a drink or dessert on the house. Just a polite way of the member of staff saying "f off then".
The food however is delicious and the adobo bao buns (albeit the bao buns were more like a toasted brioche bun folded over than an actual steamer bao bun) were divine. Would recommend the adobo bao buns and Porchetta Kare Kare if you did end up going here.
I wouldn't advise coming here if you want good service, it's a special occasion, you want to order more than one drink or dessert for that matter.
If you want to have the most amazing service and top notch food l'd recommend you go to Siago Beach Resort...

I feel a bit sorry for the service staff as they were overwhelmed by a huge table of about 50 people (not exaggerating) who, rather than sitting down and ordering as a whole table, were placing 47397346 piecemeal orders. Like one beer, one at a time. That beer would get delivered and then someone else at that table would be like "oh hey, can I get a beer too?". Times x5000. Meaning that the staff were run off their feet trying to cater to this table and in the meantime just completely ignored everyone else.
Whoever accepted this huge booking without putting on additional floor and kitchen staff and/or asking such a large table to have a food and drinks package ultimately did their restaurant a huge disservice tonight. We werent the only people who walked out after desperately trying to get some service, to no avail. Other people were as annoyed as us after sitting there with dirty plates and empty glasses in front of them for 30 minutes plus. The restaurant also turned some 5 or 6 additional tables while we were there, so ended up losing quite a bit of custom because of this. On our part alone, had we been served and been able to place an order for mains, more drinks and dessert we would have spent about another PHP3000 or so.

Read moreIf I got rate the service zero I would. It’s shocking when this can not even compare to Andoks. The service is none existent, we spent half our dinner eating around dirty dishes with staff right beside us not even helping. Them trying to serve our dessert between dirty dishes was even shocking. They have waiters over looking empty tables instead of helping tables which are with guests. Senior staff walking around doing nothing. Multiple times it feels like they trying to flip tables instead of letting you enjoy it specially on a slow evening which they were having, when we finally caught the attention of a server on her phone, the immediate question was you want it take out right? Like they know it’s not a great experience.
The food was below average. The crispy pork bau buns unenjoyable with your experience tasting like you only eating pure oil.
The steak, goat cheese, and brioche dish was average. Things were alright individually except the bread which was dehydrated and stale. The steak and goat cheese was prepared well though.
Cocktails, we had the whiskey sour, and only thing sour was the attitude we had to the badly made cocktail. The free ladies only cocktail, pineapple juice and rum, was so much better, that should be on the menu and made available instead. My lemon Duo was served in a can instead of a glass with ice, which is a small but meaningful way to serve a drink.
Overall, this is just an expensive restaurant which needs improvement...
