Book Latte wasn't hard to find because it was just at Robinson's Place Iloilo. Location-wise, it's strategically fine, but the surrounding areas are kind of displeasing so it seems like you're going on sidetracks every time you go there. Moreover, it's theme is pink so it's so visible. Interiors are quite satisfactory but I was looking forward for some better aesthetics and it's signature design theme.
When it comes to food, I'm not really sure about what I think because I have only tasted their pancakes and bacon which were both great and tasty. The drinks are so satisfying too.
I am not a member so I haven't been in the books area. If they want more people to be members and avail of their unique Book Latte services, they should advertise more and offer promos and stuff that can attract people to go there and apply as members. I have no suggestions for the moment, but all I can say is that their books section is starting to become empty because people would just tend to buy books from book shops or just download electronic books from the internet.
UPDATE: I visited again last March this year with people on the Instagram Meetup. It was lunchtime and we were very hungry. As we entered the café, a woman rudely welcomed us with a question (this is the idea. Can't quite remember her exact words): "Are you going to stay for long? Because you have to order a minimum of P200."
We were baffled, at first, as to what she meant. We were just gonna have a quick lunch because we were currently running late for the afternoon event, but she did not know that.
Later on, she babbled about things I can't remember then we told her that we were not staying for long.
I bet she is referring to those people who order one (1) glass of coffee and stay all day in the cafe. No matter, she should have handled that situation differently. It was very rude. It explains why we were the only ones there. It was the peak hour and the...
Read moreHad an okay experience at Book Latte at Festive Walk. The area is very accessible from the mall and other nearby modes of transpo, and you can be dropped off easily. There is also parking right outside and nearby. It is walking distance from the Iloilo Contemporary Arts Museum, which makes for a great landmark when looking for this place.
On a weekday afternoon, it’s not very busy. Place was about half full, fairly quiet. Servers were really nice and helpful. The place has lighting but is not super lit up and bright like cafes usually are.
The food was good, and cooking time is as expected. I had the chicken steak with mashed potatoes, which you can switch with rice. The chicken steak is a chicken fillet (remember to ask for a knife; I made the mistake of not asking for one and the meat is slightly tough) but not a big meal if you’re looking for something very filling, though it is enough for a regular meal. The Shakespearean Irish Coffee was also okay, sweet.
Price-wise, it’s okay considering the location and inflation. But expect to pay in the range of around ₱500 (or above) if you have a meal with a non-regular drink...
Read moreI so loved my visit to this restaurant, the staff are so friendly and the space is very cute. There's a second floor where there are books to enjoy, though we haven't been up there. They also sell books and offer a selection of wonderful treats and drink to enjoy them with.
On top of this they make some truly delicious dishes, I don't always say that either. I ordered a platter of bifsteak and poached eggs and I was very pleased, the meat was tender and the egg was perfectly poached. Tasted very fresh, it comes with a side of salad as well as the choice of garlic rice. Very aromatic! For my fiance, she ordered bacon and eggs and the eggs were fluffy, just the way she likes it. For dessert, we shared a banana and nutella waffle which made us very very happy. The waffle wasn't soft or soggy, it was nice and crispy which we did not expect. The nutella wasn't overpowering either, so you can still taste the banana.
I highly highly recommend a visit, You will be...
