I had eaten at Bourbon street before in America and was thrilled to see it at Megaworld Iloilo. Our family arrived about 6pm on a Monday evening and were able to sit outside overlooking the Beautiful Festival Walk Plaza. Great experience, but that greatness ended there. We pretty much sat ourselves and we're given menu's but that's where the customer service ended. We stared at the menus for about 12 minutes, looking for our server, flagging down anyone that would help. In that time no one came to our table to give us place settings, water, take our drink or appetizer orders. It was when I saw an employee off work enjoying her food flag down our server that I realized they just weren't paying attention to anything. There were 7 servers and 3 customer tables.
We were finally able to give our order and ask some questions but not without challenges. I kept having to repeat myself and my orders for our family. I told the server that she was going to have to give us much better service and attention and asked her if she was up to the task. After ordering I went to find a manager and share my experience. The manager did apologize and sort of took over being our server. I told him since a 10% service charge was automatically added to the bill they would need to do better or remove the service charge.
We ordered the Philly cheese steak, Parmesan Crusted Salmon and fried chicken. We were told that the fried chicken was 6 to 8 pieces and enough for 2 so I cancelled my son's order so they could share the fried chicken. The food was served with my Philly first, and then about 5 minutes later the salmon, and another 8 to 10 minutes later the fried chicken. I waited till my kids food arrived to eat and gave them my fries as they were starving. Unfortunately my food was cold by the time my kids food arrived. They should have figured out a way to serve all our food, hot and at the same time.
I had asked multiple times for ICE Water and kept getting room temp water. I finally told our server, the manager, to get me water with ice in it. He brought me a bucket of ice and tongs but no water. The chicken pieces were so small 4 of them were like nuggets. The 6 pieces didn't fill up both my children. The gravy served with the chicken was cold, not even warm. When I asked about the pieces the manager told me it was about the grams not the pieces. We finished eating and again couldn't get anyone's attention for the bill. Our empty plates sat in front of us attracting bugs for all that time. When I finally got the managers attention to bring the bill and he brought it to me, I informed him that in most nice restaurants that the servers would take away the dirty dishes...I was hinting for him to do the same but he purposely ignored my hint almost like clearing dirty dishes was beneath him. When he returned with my bill and card I looked at him and said "where am I supposed to sign this?" As I put the bill holder in my dirty plate to sign. The manager had the nerve to move my wallet and my son's plate beside me to clear a place for me to sign. At that point I scolded him to take my darn plate which he did and placed it on the table next to me. He did remove the service charge which would have been P200 on a P2000 bill but I was still furious. The food wasn't really that great and for the price and brand should have been much better. However the customer service nightmare ruined our dinner. On the way out none of the employees said thank you to us or if they did I didn't hear them. The manager simply glared at us as we left. I looked at him and said "YOUR WELCOME".
To the owners of Bourbon Stree, you have an incredible brand. This management and it's minion staff are a blight to that brand. The attitude of the manager, manifests to it's employees has no business in ANY Hospitality establishment, especially the "Bourbon Street" brand. Please reconsider your management decisions at this location. We will not return and would not recommend a foreigner return until the management and staff are properly trained...
Read moreWe had a party of six and got seated on the balcony with a beautiful view, warm wind, and great company. I gave one star because we came in happy but left feeling ignored. Ordered six drinks, a server came back with one after 15 minutes (vodka/sprite), but informed us that two cocktails we ordered were not available. We chose another cocktail and were told the same. After finally getting a cocktail they had, it was 30 minutes with no drink for three in our party. Once we received our drinks, we were thirsty and drank them pretty quickly and server never returned for another round of drinks and left us alone until we left due to not getting served. Server could have turned it around and stepped up his game, but instead, we were ignored.
We also ordered an appetizer and server forgot to put in the order due to drinks, and after 40+ minutes, we finally received our single order of calamari that we ate on empty drinks.
To make it worse, the manager was our server and didn’t seem to care. As a restaurant manger for 10+ years, we experienced...
Read moreOur group of 4 people did not enjoy our experience at this restaurant: Service was terrible. 3 people received their meals and the 4th meal (a cheese steak sandwich) arrived when the other 3 guests were almost finished eating. Why is it not possible to coordinate and properly train your kitchen and service staff so as all the guests at a table can be served at the same time ? we had ordered a seafood pasta, a crispy pork, a seafood soup as well as the sandwich, and none of the plates were very good. For God's sake, since when is a steak sandwich served on 2 pieces of breakfast bread ? Buy some rolls or submarine bread !! the service was almost non-existent We had to keep trying to flag down a server for anything we required because no one seemed to be paying any attention to us. As someone who worked in the hotel/restaurant industry for many years, I would definitely recommend that you put more effort into training your employees. Overall, a lousy experience and we will never return or recommend...
