Last 2023, I went on a family vacation in Iloilo. Going to the Visayas is always a treat. There are a lot of places to go to, beaches to swim in, and most of all, food to try. Iloilo, in particular, is a province known for its cuisine. It is the home of the original La Paz Batchoy and Pancit Molo.
During vacations, my family and I always go for the local cuisine. We rarely go to malls. We only go to malls when we need to buy something last minute, like toiletries and groceries, or when we need an ATM. But by chance, we went to Robinsons Iloilo. I can't remember why we went there but we did. And we chanced upon this little coffee shop called Palpitate (pal.pi.tate) Coffee. I was attracted to it because of the logo. It was like a tracing from an ECG. When I looked at it closer, it was really a tracing from an ECG. Well, the beginning tracing, at least. It was fitting because of the name of the shop.
As for the coffee, it was delicious! I ordered an Iced Belgian Chocolate because I really can't handle pure coffee drinks. The drink was delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the coffee content was not that strong. I was able to drink all of it without geeting hyperacidity. The chocolate was not overpowering but went well with the entire drink. There wasn't that much ice so you can really enjoy the drink without it being watered down.
My sister ordered her usual hot caramel macchiato. Because it was an espresso based drink, she definitely felt the palpitations. The coffee really woke her up and made her a bit hyper. She said it was just what she needed that day because we were both running on adrenaline due to lack of sleep. I guess Palpitate Coffee really did what they said they would.
Palpitate Coffee has several branches all over the Philippines. Their branches are located in Quezon City, Taytay, Antipolo, Tanay, San Mateo, Pampanga, Davao and Iloilo. So if ever you're in any of these places, be sure to look up Palpitate Coffee. You need to give their...
Read moreWe (me and my friends) were looking for a cozy place to stay and bond for couple of hours when we got to see this cafe inside Rob Main Iloilo. We did not came in together but instead one by one last Friday (at around 7pm to 9pm), then we ordered our chosen drinks and pastries. The coffee I had was great (salted caramel frappe) and of my liking. The pastries were also nice (waffles and croissants). However, the waiting time (serving) could use a bit of hustle (promptness) as it took too much time to be served one at a time. I think the availability of the items from the menu could also use a bit of update as most of my friends' orders were not available during the time so we were forced to choose again and again. Although they did mention that they are about to restock and their products will be arriving that night, the reason why most of our orders were not available. All crew members were nice and friendly. They were very considerate as they allow us to talk even at times were loud and a bit naughty. (prof naman po kami hahaha side note) Quality wise, they're all good. Overall, a nice experience and would definitely recommend it to...

Palpitate Coffee isn’t just a café; it’s a quiet kind of magic.
The moment you walk through the doors, the world slows down. You’re greeted not just by the scent of freshly brewed coffee, but by a calm that wraps around you like a soft blanket. The space is beautifully minimalist, with warm woods, soft light, and an atmosphere that whispers serenity.
I ordered their dark mocha frappe, and it was nothing short of art in a cup. Deep, smooth, and delicately bold. The chocolate wasn’t too sweet, the coffee wasn’t too sharp, just harmony in flavor. Every sip felt intentional, like it was made with care and quiet passion.
But beyond the drink, it’s the energy that makes Palpitate unforgettable. The gentle demeanor of the staff, the hushed playlists, the thoughtful design,it all feels like a love letter to stillness.
This isn’t just a place to grab coffee. It’s a space to breathe, to pause, to feel. A memory you’ll carry in your chest long after the last sip.
If you ever find yourself in Iloilo, go. Something your heart will hold onto and your senses will...
