First thing's first - the food! Well, I ordered Pork Steak and Grilled Chicken, a cup of rice and Iced Coffee Caramel.
Presentation-wise, it was appetizing, mouth-watering and inviting. Flavors are just so-so. Nothing special though.
Flavors - the Pork Steak did meet my expectations on the gravy, the veggies but the meat seems to be partially cooked. There was a part of the steak which was totally uncooked, gummy and totally inedible. The Grilled Chicken, it was half of the chicken. I was not able to manage eating it because it was over-grilled. The meat turned dry and hard to chew, the dip is unusual..haha, it was vinegar-based but it was not a flavorful one..kulang sa asim. Also, I can't figure-out what other stuff they mixed on it. The coffee caramel was just ok, though the creamer was overpowering the coffee and a bit sweeter than normal. I think the only thincg that was perfectly cooked was the rice. Moist, soft, white, yummy! Nothing more I can say with the rice but it was sooooooo GMO! Genetically Modified Organism.
Ambience - the place is really ideal for chilling, drinking, hanging with your fun-to-drink-with friends. The main hall is ok..just a little crowded with tables and chairs. I think it would be more convenient for dining and drinking if they can remove some couple of tables and chairs. It was airconditioned but seems to be not that cool enough to keep up with the warm air-breath from the individuals inside. The expansion area is ideal for those who want to experience a more-free environment while drinking. I noticed some vice-driven mortals trying their best to be law-abiding citizens secretly smoking in a smoke-free Iloilo City..haha
Hip - on my visit, I think it's on a daily basis, there's a DJ on a corner exhausting efforts to entertain the guests by mixing some not-so-old and not-so-new music on a "tugs-tugs-tugs" beat, which I find nice.
Staff & Crew - hmmmm..the ladies are gorgeous..always smiling! I cannot see any tension among them working. They seem to be enjoying the beat surrounding the place. Attentive, appreciative. The one attending me even offered to take a photo of me at my post when she saw me taking photos of the food..haha
For me, overall it was just average. Though the food was supposed to be nice and good. I think I could have had a better experience if my visit was for drinking, and not for dining..hehe, but, it's still...
Read moreInterior is nice and modern. However, I'm rating them 2 stars as the value for money is not proportionate to the quality of service and portions of the food and drinks we had.
Placement of food items on the table and the way waiters would serve you are awkward. I get that the serving dishes are good for aesthetics but please consider the space it will take up on tables of groups with lots of orders. Servers seemed like they were not trained well in serving etiquette and placement of serving dishes, drinks and dining implements. Servers kept on messing up with our requests and orders as well - Our rack of ribs did not come with any serving/steak knife and the ice cream we ordered took a long time and we were only served with one when we ordered one each for the whole group among others.
Rack of ribs had a small amount of meat in them and the cook on the meat was a bit dry. The gravy was great though. Side dish vegetable sticks were a bit dry and did not seem fresh. Cook on the pasta and the flavor could be improved by giving them a more balanced taste perhaps. Cook on the beef salpicao can be more even. Some pieces were medium well and some were well done.
Arm rest was a bit high and it was getting in the way of the dining experience. Parking space was not enough, too.
Little things matter much.
Recent update: Years after the first visit, we went with another set of friends to have wine. We asked about the flavor notes of their wine but because their servers could not answer us, they instead brought the bottles so we can read them ourselves. Nothing has improved. The wines tasted bad, almost vinegary, because they were not stored properly. The wines they gave us were from their open display cupboard near the ceiling. Take note, their ceiling does not seem to have enough insulation to protect the wines from the...
Read moreI've been here before. Last time it was wagyu. This time they had USDA prime ribeye. The had 900 grams instead of 800. We had steak salad and the sliders as appetizers. Unfortunately neither of us drink alcohol. The steak was medium rare with a nice sear. Not too much fat. The sides were good. The steak fried rice was surprisingly good. The mashed potatoes was creamy but with a great consistency. The cream spinach was ok. We had about 1/3 of the steak left over. Was great re-heated the next morning for a steak and eggs breakfast. The custard chocolate cake and gelato were great desserts to end the night. Even though they provided proper steak knives the steak was so tender that a fork or spoon edge was often adequate enough. I do have one question, out of a bill of P9300+ the senior discount was less than P500 and we weren't asked to sign anything. Even fast food ask for a signature. A year or so ago on a bill for a little over P15K the discount was a little over P2K still less than the 20% and all of us had to sign. They serve othe entrees but if you like steak this is a great place. They're pricey but if its that grade of meat it's comparable to...
