As someone who travels frequently, this hotel is above average but not great. It lacks those some touches to make it a great hotel but despite that it's in an amazing location and is okay with everything else.
VALUE: 6/10 For the price you pay for in abroad currency it's honestly cheap, although I was told by locals for this price you could expect some free breakfast typically at other places which you don't get. The rooms are appropriately sized for me anyways and you are close to everything interesting that is walkable.
ROOM: 5/10 We got the Chalet Suite and I must say they are a good size for 4 people. It had /most/ things a room should have just I wish the TV was more modern/bigger and the room itself lacked a garbage can, ironing board, towel rack and iron. Beds were super stiff and if it wasn't for the pillows well geeze. Don't me get me started with the noise. Surprisingly it's not the neighbours, its the Club near the Chalet Suites and the CATS! First the club would blast their beats from 9pm - 2am with loud bass vibratinf against the wall and then the cats sat at our door meowing ever so loudly for about 10 minutes at 5am in the morning??? So beware of the noise if you get chalet
CLEANLINESS: 6/10 Although the cleaning could if been better before we arrived, the bed sheets seemed to have weird black specks on them and the whole place could of used some serious dusting especially the curtains and edges!!! (I am allergic to dust and my nose definitely started reacting immediately, the air conditioning was blowing it around). The edges of the bed had lots of weird dirt on the ground, the bathroom was oddly dark and the toilet had brown water which I'm assuming is normal but tbe stain above the shower was unsettling. Luckily the mini fridge was surprisingly clean and it was pleasant because most hotels forget they have one.
SERVICES AND STAFF: 5/10 This is a weird one, when I called front desk speaking english (I am very Canadian sounding seeing as I grew up there) they were very accommodating and immediate. Yet when my relatives from this country of PH called they were very slow to get to the door and not as polite??? I feel like it's weird discrimination and prioritizing for foreigners V.S. locals. The internet also lacked in connection strength while staying in The Chalet suites. Connecting took some good waving aeound the room. The thing that bothered me the most was only 2 devices were allowed the connection and that I needed a slip with some sort of code to use the internet EVERYDAY. I always had to make a trip to the front desk and that gets tedious... Most hotels these days use a code just for the room or section, yet for every individual device is kind of annoying? Especially when you can't have more than 2 slips. The pool however was quite clean which I enjoyed and staff there were friendly.
Overall: Hotel is okay but the location is what makes it. Luckily it ain't a dive so that's...
Read moreI would give this hotel 2.5 stars. Here are the reasons why: (this is based only in MY OWN experience, ok?) Good reviews: The Hotel's restaurant is always open 24h. Unlike in most hotels where they dont serve food after 10pm. The FOOD of the hotel's restaurant is super affordable and cooked with LOVE.. You can really taste LOVE in every bite. The hotel is near to SM, S&R if u want to shop, near to a hospital and near the port. There are nearby 24h mini stores and restos and Metrobank is also near. They have a pool and a gym and small function halls. Affordable rooms ---that's it in my opinion ---
Worst things that happened to us: NO PARKING SPACE for those staying in the hotel..if you want to stay in this hotel forget bringing your cars. They told us that anybody can park in their parking area. First come, first served..so if you came far away just to sleep in that hotel..im so sorry but you got to look for another parking area and walk just to get to the hotel. (Waste of energy)
DOWNY (Fabric softener) is the "national scent" of the hotel. Your dress also smells Downy. If you have allergies to certain types of scent, do not stay in this hotel. You can smell downy in the elevator( i nearly passed out because im allergic to certain scents) and hallways.
Very affordable rooms are noisy during the weekends. If you want silence, pay a high-priced room ( my view is the beautiful white wall outside) so that you cannot here the noises outside. We arrived saturday night and we were deadtired from our delayed landtrip at past 10pm. You are welcomed with noise because of weekend disco fever( understandable because it is a weekend) I dont like to come back because of the free wifi that turns off when the new day comes. We have to call the front desk because their wifi is not functioning. We have to give our IP addresses in order to use their fast wifi...when morning comes, no more internet connection...you then call the frontdesk. If you want daily and frequent front desk calls then this is the best place. At the middle of the night our aircon was not functioning...called the frontdesk..told us to wait...waited for 10min.. we cant hardly breathe inside ( i am asthmatic so i need to have well-ventilated rooms)..woke up my 9yo son to go out of the room..we both waited sleepy just outside the door...the room is soo hot you can just die inside of suffocation...no one arrived...called frontdesk again..told they will followup...at last aftr 5min someone arrived and told that he was not informed earlier and that he is the only 1 on duty..installed a new unit..we waited..went to bed past 1AM. (First time but understandable...the thing is SERVICE to customers needs) Bathroom: there is leaking water out of the closed shower area (Room 221..never stay there). When you flush the bowl, blackish-blue water comes out.. The end of my horrible...
Read moreThe location of MO2 Westown Iloilo is great, and the chalet rooms beside the pool in El Dorado Resort were convenient for our family stay. The pool itself was a highlight, spacious and enjoyable, especially for kids. The food was also very good, and room service was efficient.||Unfortunately, the overall service and experience fell short. Check-in was frustrating: although it was supposed to be 2PM, our first room was only ready close to 3PM, and the second room nearly 4PM. I booked two rooms for my family, including senior citizens, and this delay was very inconvenient. Upon check-in, the receptionist simply handed me the key cards, told me our room numbers, and mentioned we were on the second floor—no one accompanied us or helped with luggage until I went back to ask again.||The rooms were somewhat outdated, and one of the toilets was clogged upon arrival, which needed maintenance. Another downside was that I booked for 7 guests, but the complimentary water, coffee, tea, and toiletries were only prepared for 4. I had to call multiple times to request the missing items, and these were not replenished the next day. Parking was also very limited, which added stress whenever we came back to the hotel.||If you’re a light sleeper, I wouldn’t recommend booking the chalet rooms as they’re very close to the bars and nightlife, it can get noisy late at night and might interfere with your sleep. It was manageable for us, but definitely worth considering.||On the positive side, some staff members particularly housekeeping and those who eventually assisted with our luggage were very kind and helpful. That effort stood out and balanced some of the negative aspects.||Overall, while the food, pool, and a few helpful staff were commendable, the poor check-in experience, inconsistent service at the front desk, and noise levels make it hard to fully recommend unless...
