Papa C's Sizzler: Comfort Food in a Cozy Setting

Papa C's Sizzler in San Juan, La Union, offered a delightful lunch break during my recent visit. The restaurant itself exuded a cozy, relaxing vibe, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle.

Following the waitress's recommendation, I tried their classic burger. It lived up to the hype! The patty was clearly made with fresh ingredients, bursting with flavor in every bite. The accompanying toppings - cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and a delicious cocktail dressing - complemented the burger perfectly.

For my companion, we opted for the hanger steak with rice and a side salad with mixed vegetables. Cooked to a perfect "medium rare" (just as requested!), the steak was juicy and tender. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, adding a welcome touch of lightness to the meal.

Overall, Papa C's Sizzler delivered on its promise of comfort food in a relaxing atmosphere. The friendly service and delicious food left me feeling happy...

Cute interior and great menu. I was looking forward to the grilled salmon.

Sadly, the took a nice (and expensive at 625) piece of fish (perfectly crisped on the outside) and grilled it to shoe leather, way overdone and chewy. It was hard to finish.

I typically prefer my salmon medium rare (dark pink) but don't mind fully cooked if I haven't requested otherwise (as in this case) but this was extreme.

My server never bothered asking me how my food was. Or smiled. Or appeared to care. (And I was only one of two customers in the place around 3:30 pm.)

Vegetable was sparse (and heavy starch, ie corn). But that is common here.

And the rice was meh. Which was surprising given how great rice here can be.
