Was with my husband and daughter on our trip to this beach town renowned for being the surfing capital of the north. I highly recommend for travelers who don't mind staying in a resort that isn't a beachfront one, as Ciabel is right along the MacArthur highway; at least it's very accessible and easy to find. Top of the line gym equipment and a 25-meter swimming pool are two of the hotel's notable facilities -- oops, right, it's also a fitness center. ||The room we stayed in was just right for our party of three, with comfy beds and soft, thick blankets. The toilet seat fixture though needed some repair. Wi-Fi and cable TV connection wasn't that strong but that gave us more time to relax and explore the hotel. Our room card also didn't work, and during our first and second day we had to ask for assistance to have our door opened.||Parking may be a problem, especially if there are a lot of customers in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel, or if there are clients attending fitness classes being offered there. But by evening most parking spaces are available.||Breakfast is not really something to be crazy about, although on our second morning meal we appreciated the more personal way of their getting our preferred food (via checklist of choices on what to eat) instead of the "buffet" they offered on our first morning there. ||One thing though that added some charm to the hotel was a little shelf at the shaded area by the pool which has an array of books that one can borrow and read while relaxing in the area. ||The staff are friendly and accommodating. Misses Elvie, Gem and Noemi, Kuya who assisted us with our room card each time as well as our inquiries, and Ate who served us our breakfasts.||Lastly, I'd say San Juan is lucky to have such a place in their area, as it promotes good health and staying fit, with a lot of activities to...

Read moreBeds and bed linens are the softest and most comfortable; noise from highway vehicles can be heard from Room 301 even during the night; t&b fixtures a bit loose and need fixing; location is a bit far from the beach but very accessible being on the highway and for going around tricycles/jeepneys are available; staff are very responsive to email queries; we felt welcomed even though we arrived in the wee hours of the morning; nice that shuttle is available upon request; some staff are very helpful though others might benefit from training on the little things (ie, you have to ask for table napkins everytime); patio restaurant serves great Filipino food and servings are big/filling and delicious; garden needs some care (a few dried potted plants); free use of swimming pool and gym are great add-ons; building facilities are good though might need some cleaning (see-through elevator and upper floor hallways a bit dirty). Overall, a good place to stay if you can gloss over the...
