Fat Dois — Restaurant in Mandaue

Heard of this place for quite sometime now. But was only able to get in after several attempts. This restaurant is located along the AS Fortuna highway. There's no parking space only along the road.

When you arrive at the restaurant, you'll have to write your name on a clipboard that serves as a priority number. Then every so often the server will come out and call out the names once a table is open. Smaller groups will usually be faster. The place is small and a bit cramped. You'd probably be eating elbow-to-elbow or back-to-back here.

They have 3 main dishes, it's Spicy noodles, Cheese Chix (Korean Cheese Buldak), and Cheese ribs. These dishes is good for about 2-3 persons each. I'd recommend the Spicy noodles and the Cheese ribs. But we got the BBQ Cheese chix, and apparently the Garlic Soy Cheese chix was their best seller. So, might need to go back and try it.

The BBQ ribs works well with the melted cheese. Order extra cheese for a more (sinful) cheesy serving. And the spicy noodles is a large serving of slightly spicy noodles with a generous amount of toppings.

Overall, this restaurant has something different to offer to Cebu diners. The waiting and the absence of parking can be a bit frustrating but it is part of the experience for this restaurant. Serving is generous, but lacks a bit more flavor and the prices here are...

I've been hearing Fat Dois from my friends. They've been trying to get in for several times but they always end up disappointed because the restaurant is always full and the line outside is always long.

They never give up though, this time I gave in to the hype and joined them. Store opens at 5:30PM so we went there at 5PM.

The place is cozy, you'll see burners on the tables to keep the food warm. The service crew are accommodating and fast.

Now the food, they only have 3 dishes and all were amazingly delicious! They have the Cheese ribs, Cheesy Chix and the Spicy noodles. We ordered all of them so we can make a better food review.

All I can say is yummy, yummy, yummy!

Now I know why people wait in line, why people go back and why there is still hype. I will definitely be back for more.

If you dont like to wait then this is not for you . Waiting time is long since lot of people wants to dine here.

But for me, as a first timer. Here is my impression:

Place is warm (maybe a health precaution protocol) but i could not see any exhaust, floor is also unswept, our chopstick still had a stain when served. Serving time is average. Staff are courteous, alert and responsive. Food is fair for something with cheese, not the hype that i was expecting for on social media and is somehow a bit high for its quality and quantity. Ribs are tender though, good job.

Using of warm lights made the place vibrant. I see good restoration though. I applaud the service crew even though on skeletal workforce for a good customer service.
