AMBIENCE & SERVICE
We were glad to see in their Facebook page that they were open. Upon our arrival, we waited for nearly a minute for someone to attend to us outside the entrance, but we ended up going in and heading right back outside because we were still supposed to wait. Only then did someone go outside and tell us to wait for the table to get prepared. This could be smoother next time if someone is readily available to guide us instead of leaving us guessing how long to wait outside, or at least leave a sign on the door. But then again, I'm aware they might have less staff due to the new normal, or staff might be more productive inside rather than out.
Orders were taken verbally instead of the usual order forms with red pencils. Plastic dividers of the middle table we were at made it challenging to communicate with my companion, but tables on our right and left had one less plastic divider. Service was relatively quick; a big plus!
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Green King Ramen was still exceptionally delicious especially with the added parmesan flavor and bits of meat. I have impressions that the noodles might've come from the freezer because of the way some parts were still attached together, but this wasn't a big deal due to adjusted expectations for, again, the new normal. It's more important to me that everything is delicious and this was a success. The surprising bottled guava iced tea was a big letdown though. It was so bland that we didn't get our money's worth with it.
Overall, we're still very happy...
Read moreNothing special with their food. The service here is unbelievably uncoordinated. They served my girlfriend's ramen without the strips of pork shoulder. We asked about it and then they served it up on a plate with a smile, like we ordered it for a side dish. I looked at the server in awe as she offered no apology. I made sure to exclaim "Well, there goes their tip." It looks like they've realized our disappointment as they tried to back track with giving us iced tea. I told the guy who brought it that we didn't order it, and all he said was "it's just cold tea, sir". All I really wanted was for them to own up to their mistake and offer us a simple apology.
Noodles were ok. Broth was good and tasty. But honestly, if you're looking for the best ramen (at a similar price point) in alabang, cross the street and walk...
Read moreOne of the best places for a quick ramen fix. Ofc, Butao is always my go-to with karaage on sides. I love that you can customize your bowl of ramen to the thickness of the noodles, richness of the soup, level of spiciness, and play with the add-ons as you desired. The taste never changes from whatever branch you dine-in.
I just want to commend the strict observance of the health and safety protocols. Please take note that this branch is using StaySafe.PH for contact tracing so you may want to download the app and register ahead for hassle-free...
