I have always enjoyed dining at Italianni’s, but unfortunately, my recent visit to the SM BF branch to celebrate my birthday left much to be desired in terms of customer service. The experience felt disorganized and disappointing, particularly with the receptionist’s handling of seating arrangements.
I visited twice to check for available seating and had my name listed and queued. I was assured that my party would be next to be seated. While waiting nearby and taking a photo by the Christmas tree just in front of the restaurant, I noticed a staff member ushering in newcomers. When I approached to follow up, the receptionist claimed she hadn’t seen me and gave our seats to someone else. This happened despite the fact that I had only been away for a few minutes and was still within clear view of the restaurant.
After this, we waited right in front of the reception area to ensure we wouldn’t be overlooked again. However, I was disappointed to witness another instance where a different staff member seated someone else without referring to the logbook or calling out our name, despite the earlier promise that we would be next.
This lack of communication and failure to honor the queue system was frustrating and made the experience feel unfair. I hope the SM BF branch can take steps to improve their customer service and ensure a more organized and respectful approach to managing...
Read moreThe service and atmosphere at this establishment are undeniably top-tier. The staff is attentive and the ambiance creates a pleasant and welcoming dining experience. However, the food—specifically the Margherita pizza—left much to be desired.
A classic Margherita is a test of any Italian restaurant’s authenticity, and unfortunately, this one missed the mark. The pizza arrived topped with raw tomatoes and an unexpectedly sparse amount of cheese. The result was a sharp, vegetal flavor that overwhelmed the dish and detracted from the balance one would expect from such a staple.
To elevate the flavor and bring it closer to a traditional preparation, the use of a well-seasoned tomato sauce or sun-dried tomatoes would have been preferable. These elements could have added depth and complemented the basil and mozzarella, rather than...
Read moreWhat happened Italiannis? Used to be our go-to for Italian food in the metro but was severely disappointed during our last dining experience.
They asked us to pay extra 50 on top of the already expensive sicilian salad price which they said was for sourcing the ingredients. This sicilian salad was not the same from how it used to be before. The taste was very mediocre and not worth the price.
The pork chop au poivre was so thin, the accompanying potatoes were small marbled ones which they even had to slide in half (whyyy???). This used to be the thicker and with large potato wedges.
Our experience was so disappointing. The food quality was really poor and far from how the old Italiannis used to be. Definitely not...
