Tonight was only my 4th time dining here at Vikings SM BF. I can definitely say it's gone worst every single time. Have never complained, until now.
Started with me asking the refreshment person for some sugar syrup which i wanted to add to my iced tea. Was refused. Person mentioned that it really tasted that way as it was iced tea. Spoke as if he had the same taste preference i had.
Second, got myself some seafood taho. It should be named seafood flavored taho. Didn't see any form of seafood in it. Texture also leaves a lot to be desired. This has always been my favorite every time we dine at any Vikings branch. Not this one.
Third, Kamameshi rice was crispy. Surely it was reheated several times. Not fresh indeed.
Fourth and probably worst, got some baked oysters. It was terrible. Texture, taste and all. Very unappetizing. Had to call the attention of one of the chefs about it. Asked him to taste it and comment on the looks. It is as if it was oysters cooked in the hot liquid above boiling rice. He was very satisfied. Even explained that it was how they do it. Didn't even bother to offer to change the ones we got. He doesn't know what he's talking about.
Then the chili con carne. Very unpleasant in both appearance and taste. Was cold, dry and unspiced. Had only carrots in it.
Cake was pleasant looking and tasted ok but the sponge was also dry.
Coffee jelly really tasted like coffee. It was bitter.
Bibingka chef / server very unpleasant looking. Had a nose piercing. You can easily see this using your cctv.
But it wasn't all bad. Buko pandan tasted great. The binusog na lechon and steak were more than perfect. I had second servings.
Me and my family frequents Vikings. Takes our balikbayan families and friends every time (SM The Block / Mega Mall). My wife had her birthday celebration at Vikings Niu. My granddaughter celebrated her 7th birthday at Vikings MOA. Countless times it has always been Vikings. Even SM Lanang was great. Never an unpleasant experience until tonight. Vikings SM BF is terrible. Never dining there again and will tell everyone i know about our experience. Thanks.
By the way, i have pictures. I just don't know how to...

March 31, 2024 Easter Sunday Celebration
My wife, my daughter and I reserved for a dinner feast. Again, we had a wonderful eating experience.
Only one comment, though. In all the Vikings Buffet that I have gone to, there was never a serving of Diet Soda or Pepsi Max or Diet Pepsi. I ended up drinking beer instead of the regular soda.
They also do not have sugar free ice cream.

My wife and my daughter decided to celebrate my wife's birthday today, dinner because it's a holiday. My daughter won't be free the following day, 27.
I planned to eat ebi tempura, roast chicken, pancit, dinuguan and some oysters.
But, it turned out that ebi was not served like before, and waiting for a long time was just unbearable.
The line for the chicken was also long since the line was also for the lechon and others. I passed.
Instead, I picked up whatever was pleasing to my eyes, and... I enjoyed them - pork fennel, salmon head barbecue, salmon belly sinigang, yang chow rice, bean curd seafood soup, and the last, which became my favorite pulutan for snow flakes beer, the red, spicy, yummy chicken feet.
There is one thing that turned me off. We were assigned to table 104. It is the last table or at the farthest corner by the wall. And behind the wall is the men's restroom. This was just fine for the three of us.
What really turned me off was the stench that crept into that area. It was not only us who noticed it. Almost all in that area complained about it. Since it was almost 8 30pm, slowly, they and we slowly exited. I did not leave yet. I transferred to a vacant table and continued to feast on the spicy...
Read morefirst, tagged 1 of my kid at entrance as kid .. then at the table after eating converted it to adult. my kids are 5 and 9. you think a 9 year old will eat like an adult? anyway rules are rules but i thought they gave consideration like other buffets.
lets go to food. some are cold.. rock hard like their pizzas and donuts. refills on non busy stations or parts are slow.
long lines on busy stations like steaks and tempura. they should have put more people there obviously they know its going be busy.
selection of food for a 1k php buffet is not good. considering they are just a few hundred bucks under their sister NIU. you would expect something close to it but nah. lower your expectations here.
lets go back to steaks. you line up and wait .. theyll give you 3 small slices.
kid options for their 400php rate is almost close to none. so if your kid is a picky eater dont bring em here.
good stuff.. the service crew. they do what they can. except that persn who tagged my kid adult just after we ate.
compared to others, they always have glasses available . i experienced multiple times on buffets you have to wait for glasses or ice.
anyway its worth a try but not worth coming back. again a rip off at 1k and spending...
