This place is a great Taiwanese place. I was happy to celebrate our quick lunch here to celebrate my 1st anniversary in the company. It was quick as we literally ate and ran as we still have a meeting to catch.
Anyway, we have tried these foods, I will say the name as how I describe it because literally I don't know any Taiwanese words. Young Bamboo Shoots Pig's Ear Tofu Chicken with mushroon As to how they are cooked, I don't have any idea. But for 4 people dining, this was enough. I had extra rice by the way.
With the place, it was quaint. It is small and it is like your normal carinderia except the food was authentic asian. I think the ambience is appropriate to the vibe it presents. It is literally a place you don't want to have a meeting in, nor a place where you will stay and chill. It is literally a dine and dash place.
Ambience: 7/10 (I was not liking it) Authenticity: 10/10 (humble but significant) Food: 10/10 for now as I cannot compare it with any Taiwanese place Decor: 6/10 almost no decor but it...
Read moreBeen around the Banawe for quite some time and one if not the first to offer Taiwanese food in the area. Finally recognized by Michellin for the delicious and flavorful meals they have been serving through the years. Typically the food is boiled avoiding frying with oil and seasoned mildly. But around here they season their food well with lots of flavor. You start things of with the Kiampong as the base. Salty rice with soy sauce, some mushroom and peanuts. Then a wide selection of hot meals to choose from displayed at the counter. Point out your food and they will deliver it to your table. Its a bit crowded and cramped around here so get a seat first before you make your order. Price points is a bit high with a typical rice meal costing around 300+. Quite a popular place for lunch and yes they do have parking around here and a guard...
Read moreHad late lunch here on a weekday. It wasn’t that busy but there was a couple who placed their order at the same time as us. We ended up being seated next to each other and the servers still managed to get our orders mixed up.
We ordered a whole Taiwan sausage and they served us half, we didn’t know at first so we ate it. Eventually they told us this wasn’t our order, and gave us another plate with the same amount of sausage. And they said that was “whole”. In the bill the first plate was 190 then they crossed it out to be 430. It was so little and did not make sense to us!
They also forgot to serve our kiampung and I had to follow it up after...
