2nd time eating here. We had to wait in line, but it was fine since we were seated after about 7 minutes. Our server (I think her name was Catherine, though I’m not 100% sure) was very nice and helpful. She set our expectations by saying the food would arrive in around 20–30 minutes. Unfortunately, that serving time wasn’t met.
We ordered the family bundle, which included 2 ramens, 2 gyudon rice bowls, 1 gyoza, 1 karaage, 1 cucumber appetizer, and 1 lava cake. We also ordered ebi tempura and tiramisu.
The gyoza came out fairly quickly at around 20 minutes. The ramen bowls followed at about 40 minutes. The cucumber appetizer came next at 50 minutes. One gyudon bowl arrived at the 1-hour mark (which felt odd, since the table beside us, who arrived later, already had theirs).
We had to follow up for the tempura, karaage, and the last gyudon bowl. I also asked them to serve the desserts since we were almost done eating.
The other gyudon and the tempura arrived together after about an hour.
Lastly, the karaage came at around 1 hour and 10 minutes, but by then we were finished, so I asked for it to be wrapped.
Later, the manager (I believe) came over to explain and apologize, admitting that they had forgotten about the karaage. I appreciated the honesty, and they offered to deduct one item from the bill as compensation.
Overall, I hope they improve their serving efficiency. It’s a shame, because the food was very good and the waiting staff were...
Read moreWe had a quick dinner here because my son was craving noodles, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to our expectations. We ordered two of their best-selling ramen dishes, chicken karaage, and tiramisu. The ramen and karaage were quite average for the price, though the tiramisu was beautifully presented but taste wise, better get it elsewhere.
Service was on the slower side even though the restaurant wasn’t full, and it was a bit hard to get the attention of the staff. We had read similar feedback but decided to give them a chance—sadly, the experience wasn’t as memorable as we hoped. For the same price, we’ve had better overall quality and service elsewhere, like Hanamaruken or Mitsuyado.
Edit (in response to the owner’s reply): My main concern is really the food quality and service, which can’t be addressed by compensation alone. If there was real intent to reach out, it would be easy to do so directly through my Google profile. Sadly, the response feels more like a marketing gesture than a genuine effort.
Note: What’s puzzling is that Ippudo and Yabu are under the same group, yet the difference in quality, service, and ambiance between the two is...
Read moreNot impressed at all. The food is ok, but nothing to be amazed at. Also if you are ordering, be sure to make sure that all the ingredients stated on the menu are actually on the plate when it gets there. I had the experience where 2 of the ingredients stated in the menu were not in the dish, when I asked about it, I was told that they had run out of the ingredients, how about mentioning that to the paying customer first? Also, be prepared if you are more than one person to have one persons meal brought to them while you wait around at the table for your companion to receive theirs. my companions arrived, but mine arrived 20 minutes later, poor coordination from the kitchen, and poor table service where the waiter should be looking to make sure everyone gets to eat at the same time. Portions are not big, and the prices are high for what is served. I will not be returning, many other restaurants offer better value for money. Also like many restaurants in the Philippines, there is a service charge added to the bill, adding insult to injury, no motivation to actually give better service to customers when they are already guaranteed a tip,...
