Italianni’s Robinsons Magnolia – Needs Improvement in Service & Value
I visited Italianni’s Robinsons Magnolia in the morning, and while I understand the staff was still adjusting since the mall had just opened, the service was slow and unorganized. We were a group of four, and while the first two dishes arrived quickly, my Garlicky Longganisa took almost 30 minutes to be served, followed by the Spaghetti with Clams another 20 to 30 minutes later. The delay was frustrating, and it was unclear how orders were being prioritized.
Billing was another issue. My friend used a BFF Card to get a discount, and since our total was just below ₱3,000, she ordered a slice of cake to push the bill over the required amount. However, when the bill arrived, it was over ₱4,000 because they mistakenly charged for a whole cake instead of a slice. While the staff fixed it immediately, the hassle could have been avoided with more attention to detail.
Since we were seated outside, it felt like we were being overlooked. The staff seemed more focused on the inside of the restaurant, despite only having one other occupied table at the time. It was disappointing to have to call their attention multiple times, especially when the restaurant wasn’t busy.
As for the food, the Garlicky Longganisa was okay but lacked the strong garlic flavor I expected. The portion was also underwhelming—rather than serving whole longganisas, they sliced three pieces in half and placed them on top of the rice. For the price, they should add at least one or two more pieces to make it feel worth it. The Spaghetti with Clams tasted decent, but the long wait made the experience less enjoyable.
Overall, the price does not match the portion sizes. While I understand that Italianni’s is primarily an Italian restaurant offering all-day breakfast, the pricing for the longganisa meal felt too high for what was served. The slow service, inattentiveness, and portion sizes overshadowed the food quality. While the billing issue was resolved, it was inconvenient, and I hope the staff makes it a habit to double-check bills before handing them over.
The experience could have been much better if service had been more efficient and if the food portions matched the pricing. Would I return? Only if they improve the service and...
Read moreI was lucky enough to snag a table at Italianni’s yesterday for a late lunch and enjoy their 50% promo discount with my BDO card. It was a feast of flavors and textures, from the crisp and fresh Sicilian salad to the creamy and cheesy baked zitti. The complimentary bread was a highlight for me, warm and soft. The salmon was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, and the mozzarella sticks were gooey and crunchy. The only dish that disappointed me was the mushroom risotto, which felt undercooked and bland. The service was impeccable, fast and friendly, and the comfort room was spotless and well-equipped. I appreciated the bidet and the choice of toilet paper for different purposes. Kudos to Lyka and Maezy for their professionalism and attentiveness. One of the employees (not sure if it was Emz, the manager) fixed our wobbly table without us asking. The only downside of this place is the portion size, which is quite small for the regular price. I would only come back here with the promo discount, otherwise it would not be worth it. But for now, I’m giving it five stars for a delightful...
Read moreEverything else was okay (I only remember to take the picture of the herb roasted chicken) except The Chicken Italianni - I'm not sure how the chicken was cooked, the description says sauteed but the chicken has a tough outer meat even for the thigh and leg part, which I believe is a leftover one from someday back and the cook just added so much seasoning trying to cover up, and made the dish even worse - too sour and spicy. It looked okay and unsuspecting though so we didn't notice any issue when it was presented. Considering the dish is named after the restaurant - "Chicken Italianni" I truly suggest the cook not to mess up with the dish by salvaging the leftover items. What's worse, even after telling the staff about it, there was no compensatory action being done except that the cook is being informed. Also, the restaurant, like the other Bistro group restaurant, is very cost conscious about the aircon usage. The aircon temperate was set at 28C which is not the comfortable level. No wonder a lot of patrons just take the...
