worst experience in terms of service, especially the waiting time and the correctness of orders. for it being a pretty small restaurant, i was really displeased with its service. for context, this was valentines day, and we stayed here because we didn't have a choice to eat anywhere else (and the menu looked promising at the start)
we waited for more than an hour for our mains to arrive, which was baffling because even other small businesses and even higher end restaurants only take 30 minutes max to complete all orders in my experience. i had to call the attention of the staff that we have been waiting for an hour already, and only our appetizers have arrived. when the mains came, they even got our orders wrong and cooked the same meal twice. when the last of the mains arrived, we just decided to take it out since we took so long in the restaurant. it also took them about 40 minutes before telling us one of our orders were sold out, which means they don't immediately cook the food and it took them that long to realize stocks weren't enough.
for that kind of service, the food wasn't even phenomenal to be something worth waiting, and was pretty expensive (in student budget context). i've had way better food with better service for much much cheaper. they also had an additional ₱100 service fee that wasn't even shown how it was computed and was just added to the final bill for no context. this was definitely the worst restaurant experience i've ever had, and sadly, will not be coming back nor will i be recommending this place to anyone. really ruined our night.
please train your staff to be more efficient since it looked like they didn't have any system in the first place. for a small restaurant with about 20 customers max, it shouldn't have taken that long...
Read moreMexican food has always been my comfort meal and Puesto Modern Mexican Restaurant does not disappoint. This is also a better value Mexican resto compared to another Mexican place I was able to try within Teacher's Village. Ordered pulled pork Burrito and yes, it was tasty, filling and reasonable for the price.
What I dont appreciate is the extra charge for any extra sauce.
I have been to Mexico City and have tasted authentic tacos and burritos (in the market where all locals eat). Salsa, Guacamole, onions, veggies are unlimited - and for half the price we pay here! There's also a Mexican restaurant i frequent in San Diego, California and they have Taco Tuesdays when you can get a soft taco with unli toppings for just $1.00! I always order 2 tacos and for just a little over Php100, I'm filled up with all the extra stuff I load my taco with. Wondering if we could have the same...
Read moreA Mexican-inspired restaurant along Maginhawa. The airconditioned interiors is somewhat themed. We've come back here several times since first trying them this year to explore their Mexican-inspired offerings. They have a very large menu actually, that includes pasta and rice meals and non-Mexican inspired food. My favorite on the menu is the quesadilla (chicken fajita and beef carne asada). The cheese is rich, creamy, and thick. The meat is perfectly done, and the wrap is a perfect vehicle. The birria was also quite nice because the seasoning is so good and the meat is well cooked. I've had the horchata and cafe horchata (horchata with espresso shot). The horchata is really good on its own, and is the better drink between the two. Cafe horchata is OK but the coffee kinda ruins the fullness of the horchata. The server is nice, and is...
