Dined in yesterday, 4pax. Atmosphere: Place was clean and cool, tables were not greasy and seemed to have been cleaned well. You can really tell that they are serving Japanese cuisine due to the decor and feel of the restaurant. Service: We did not encouter any issues with the staff interms of overall service. Gave this 4 stars as there were a couple of times that we had to call on the staff more than once just so they could accomodate our request. Not going to drag them down with this, since once we did get serviced they were able to serve us well. Food: We ordered their Spicy Namban Teishoku & the Tonkatsu Teishoku. Let me tell you, their food does not disappoint. Their Namban was quite tender and flavorful, meat was juicy and the sauce on top really complements the flavors of the meat. Their Tonkatsu was also quite juicy and overall our go to order in Yayoi. The serving size was also quite generous for both dishes, we felt full and satisfied with what we got for the price. Overall If you are craving for Japanese cuisine in UP Town Center, Yayoi is one of the safest options here. Especially if it's your first time trying out the flavors of Japan. Definitely won't be disappointed.

Forgetting it was Valentine's Day, my children and I met up for lunch at Yayoi. This is the first time we were together in a while since one of my sons and I are currently living abroad. After being given a table, we were immediately attended to by one of the staff, given water and hot tea to drink. Ordering was easy as there was a tablet on the table with the menu. Busy, with catching up, I never did take note of the dishes we ordered. I do remember I had a Tonkatsu set and it was okay. My daughter got the mackerel set while the boys had chicken dishes, all of which seemed very delicious and satisfying. I did taste my youngest's Spicy Karaage and it was quite scrumptious and very spicy indeed. The salmon sushi rolls and gyoza were very good. The food was reasonably priced. In all it was an enjoyable lunch with good food. From all that we tried, I honestly will not recommend the plain tonkatsu, unless they can improve it a bit.

Must try Japanese restaurant if you're a fan of the cuisine and teishoku (set meals)! Great value for money. It's pricier than the usual Japanese places, but very worth it. Their orders have big servings. Great place to have a peaceful and filling meal Service: you order via their tablet. Wait staff assist you to your table and teach you how to use their system. Even with the automated ordering system, the staff are very attentive and efficient. We waited for around 15 minutes for our orders to arrive Atmosphere: Lights are a bit dim, good acoustics inside the restaurant. Even if it's full and busy, the place didn't feel stuffy Food: we ordered agedashi tofu, kani salad, california roll, sukiyaki teishoku, and mixed tempura teishoku. Everything was good, definitely a lot for just 3 people. Our favorite was the kani salad, sukiyaki, and the tofu.
