Restaurant Review: Kuya J – GEMS Antipolo Kuya J at GEMS Antipolo has undergone a remarkable transformation! Unlike its previous fast-food-style setup, the restaurant now exudes a refined dining atmosphere, offering a more elevated and intimate experience. Ambiance & Service The shift towards a more fine-dining concept is evident in the restaurant's elegant and well-organized layout. The ambiance is cozy yet sophisticated, making it an ideal place for both casual get-togethers and special occasions. The staff is exceptionally accommodating, providing prompt and warm service that enhances the overall dining experience. Food Quality & Presentation The dishes remain consistently flavorful and well-prepared, but now they come with a more refined presentation that adds to the premium feel of the place. The menu features Godly delicious selections, ensuring that every bite is a satisfying indulgence. Convenient Payment Options Another great feature is the multiple cashless payment options available. Whether using Maya, GCash, GoTyme, or direct bank transfers, settling your bill is now effortless and hassle-free. Final Verdict Kuya J in GEMS Antipolo has successfully elevated its dining experience, offering high-quality food, excellent service, and a more sophisticated setting. It’s no longer just a casual fast-food spot but a place where you can enjoy a fine dining experience at a reasonable price. ⭐ Highly recommended for those looking for great Filipino food in a classy yet welcoming atmosphere! #KuyaJAntipolo #FineDiningExperience #MustTryEats @iAmAHobbyist #iAmAHobbyist #TeamTM2500Pililla #AlMalaya

Great Food at an Affordable Price We really enjoyed the food during our first visit to Kuya J’s Robinsons Antipolo branch. Even though we arrived during a busy hour, our orders were served on time, which we appreciated. However, I did notice a few service-related issues. Some staff members lacked attention to detail—they didn’t check in to see if everything was okay after serving our food, and they forgot to provide us with tissue, which was a bit disappointing. After finishing our meal, we also had to call their attention to request our dessert. It seems that some of the staff lack situational awareness, which is something the management should consider improving.

Chick restaurant serving traditional filipino food (e.g. Sissig, lumpia, halo-halo). Unfortunately the quality isn't as good as the nice decorated restaurant area suggest. Food lacks the special taste and some street vendors are way better and cheaper. E.g. The fresh calamansi juice was neither fresh nor cold. It even taste artificial (maybe only concentrate?) Even though the waiter where friendly, but they kept forgetting our orders and waiting time was rather long. But Halo-halo was great and might be their signature food. Sorry but for this price I expected way more.

Jeez, where do we start? Overall experience was terrible. I’ve been to different filo restaurants and by far, Kuya J’s the worst. We ate here today with my children and the pancit tasted panis already and to think na we waited for an hour to get our food ha? It’s not even busy and only few people eating when we got there. I thought it would be worth it and freshly cooked but the food was served cold. The rice wasn’t even enough for 3 people. Sisig was meant to be squid as per the menu but they gave us chicken i think. Could’ve had at least informed us that it wasn’t available and also the waiting time. Nothing. Missed one of the orders and i didn’t bother to ask anymore coz i don’t want to wait for another hour for them to cook it. Beer’s on the menu but it wasn’t available either. Another thing was the crew working in hospitality industry, didn’t really show any hospitality at all. No thank you, made us wait and had to approach them to find out if we could just sit anywhere or what. The worst restaurant that has small serving, bad employees, terrible food and too pricey. Wish we ate somewhere else and knew it was this bad. But yeah, never again....

Place is nice and clean but the food is another story. No kare kare with tripe so we had to order the one with bagnet. A piece of bagnet sitting in the middle of the kare kare sauce (commercial grade) and wilted vegetables. My wife joke her kare kare is way better. P480 for this dish. Then the scallops we ordered were burnt. I told the waiter about this and he said it was not. So i called the manager and they replaced it. P280 for the scallops. The final nail on the coffin was the ube halo halo that was like eating a sherbet. You need to eat half the shaved ice before you can mix and reach for the sweet stuff on the bottom. P109 for the halo halo.

My first and last dine in at Kuya J. Maxs...
