There are 2 properties by the same name and same owner, this review is about the rooms next to their Restaurant on Rizal Street on the flat close to the beach. The rooms are basic with a fan and have a double bed, you have 2 shared bathrooms male and female. The location is excellent, and for the price hard to beat 500 Pesos PN for the room low season. Much better than many others for the price I looked at while I was in Port Barton. It's kept very clean but the Water pressure is not good in town because of the drought they tell me? so there are only certain times of the day the shower runs properly or you use a bucket which really is no big deal The Garden is lovely but there are Mosquitoes and I've mentioned to the staff they should really have a aerosol of repellent in each room more so in the wet season I would think. No credit cards only cash there is an ATM 100 meters away the only one in Port Barton but it hardly ever works so bring cash if yo want to come...
Read moreEvergreen Villa is not what I conjure as a "Villa", but it is a well kept place with basic accommodation consisting of a number of rooms around a plant filled courtyard. The rooms are clean and adequately sized for budget housing. The restaurant serves a good variety of meals and what I ate was palatable. It is only a couple minutes walk from the beach. Port Barton has a magnificent chorus of crowing roosters that start early in the morning and continue full force for hours, so be prepared. The other thing to be aware of is that Port Barton only has electricity from 1800 to 2400, and even during that time the power suddenly goes out. This accommodation has its own generator so you won't be left in the dark, except for the 18 hours of the day when there is no...
Read moreThere are several hotels with beachfront huts in Port Barton and they would be my first choice. However they were all booked up so we stayed in Villa Evergreen. It is very much a budget option and the rooms are quite ugly but they are located around a lovely garden. The shared toilet needed a bucket to flush it but it was kept clean. It's only one street away from the beach and there is a restaurant and shop on site, but of course there are many alternatives nearby. The rooms have openings in the wall (covered by mosquito meshes) so you will hear every noise from outside. Unfortunately on our first night there was some kind of party nearby with very loud music till 4am; otherwise only the cocks...
