Restobar/Restaurant Review 01-02-24 06:00 PM Pros: •The place is just right beside the highway. •A beachfront, and just across the bridge. •Has a wonderful view of the sunset and a bit cozy. •Foods may be a bit pricey to some travelers but I think it’s just in the middle same as other restos in the area. •The food is good. The amount of serving is fine. Not less, not too much. Btw, I liked their rice.
Cons: •The order takes long to be served. •Wrong order was served. We ordered vanilla shake but was served a pineapple shake. —Another shake that we didnt order was delivered. —We have to send it back. •Although, they would repeat your order, but they won’t tell how long it will take. —We asked if the our order will still be served as the mashed potato was taking too long. —We were just told that it’s being prepared. —We already emptied our plates and until we decided to leave, no mashed potato was served. •Customer service was BEYOND TERRIBLE. —One of us approached the counter asking for a glass of water. —The attendant asked her (two) colleagues to assist but unfortunately, they didn’t even bat an eye and just continued doing something. —Disappointed, our friend went back to our table with no water. —We then noticed that there’s a water dispenser beside the counter that our friend didnt notice. —The first attendant could’ve just informed us on the water dispenser instead of forwarding us to her colleagues. —And for the 2 other attendants, why? You didn’t even bother to assist the customer. That was unprofessional and unethical. You did your customer dirty.
*I don’t think I would go back and recommend this restobar, not unless they improve their customer service.
*Not really a busy time as what you can see on the pics. Only a handful...
Read moreAs a restaurant, it is fine. As a hotel, this place has an issue: LOUD LIVE MUSIC from 6:30 to 10 pm EVERY NIGHT that sounds more like local off-key karaoke turned up to 11. They even play LOUD ADS in between songs for some ungodly reason. Why?! Before 6pm, they have loud DJ music from the same speakers. It’s so loud that no one is seated in the tables nearest the speakers and the staff don’t seem to notice that 2/3 of the restaurant is uninhabitable.
Currently there are 2 smoke detectors pinging from low battery in the building as well. We asked the staff to change the one that we can hear outside of our room. They came to look at it and said “it beeps because it’s working. That’s how you know it’s working.” Then when I told them that meant low battery, they said “it means there is smoke.” So they proceeded to open the windows and make it LOUDER. I can’t believe there are no refunds for future nights booked, but I now understand why.
Here is a photo from our top floor deluxe room of the stage where it’s all going down a few centimeters from my ears. People come here to scuba dive and that starts early in the morning, so I would have been fine if they ended this high volume karaoke at a reasonable hour but dang, this is comically bad for sleeping.
It was also the most expensive hotel we have been to in all of the Philippines. Rooms are clean though, so if you are deaf, this is your place and I recommend the fried garlic chicken wings.
Also, why is there an infomercial for Dubai playing on loop in the restaurant on a big screen? During the very brief pauses between horrendous karaoke, you get to hear the same 3 minutes of Dubai propaganda. That might be the weirdest thing about this place, except maybe staff not knowing how fire...
Read moreNot sure what others are talking about. Perhaps they are just miserable in their own lives or have unrealistic expectations… Now for my review: let me start by saying I have been in the restaurant and hospitality industry for close to 40 years so it’s easy for me to overlook or accept things other that have no clue how this industry operates might not. Hence some of these less than stellar reviews. First night my girlfriend and I had the chop suey and chicken adobo and it was by far the best adobo I have ever had. I can’t comment on their cocktails as we just had a couple of San Migs. The place had a good crowd and despite that we still received good service. We both enjoyed our experience so much and after my girlfriend tasted my adobo we decided to return the next night so she could have it all to herself. She had the adobo and I had a Hawaiian pizza. The place was busy so we were seated on the beach. The service was good for Philippine standards. Again I had a beer and she opted for a glass of wine. The adobo was consistent and my pizza was decent. I have had better but I have definitely had worse. The fresh dough was a plus. My only complaint was it could have been cooked a little more but that’s just a matter of preference. The dogs that hang out there are cute and not aggressive… meaning their begging is minimal and they can take a hint and follow directions when you shoo them away. I wish we were staying longer because I really want that damn...
