So, i saw an insect in my Pakwan salad upon serving it on my plate... I immediately allerted the staff, they were very attentive. He saw the bug crawling on the salad. Then he took my plate and brought it to the kitchen. I don't know what it was, a small fly or maybe a small cockroach. But the staff returned to tell me that it was a fly that just went into the food AFTER they served it. Hence, they just replaced my plate and SOME of what used to be in it (the kesong puti and tapa strips were left out -- which were suppose to be the highlight of the dish, bdw) and left us to eat what remained in the bowl... Nobody would probably be able to prove if the bug was there before or after it was served. Evenso, I was dumbfounded that they would let their customers take the risk. 🥲 Also, I didn't know it was my responsibility to keep my food from bugs once it was served.😒

Anyway, they allow pets, so that's the 2nd star. But...

My first visit. I ordered the Bone Marrow Pintxos, Beef Pares Mami, and Garlic Fried Rice.

The Beef Bone Marrow was delicious! The Marrow was fatty and unctions; very decadent. There were slices of garlic bread for you to apply the Marrow like a spread.

I was told that the Beef Pares Mami is one of their most popular dishes. The broth in the Beef Pares Mami was very good. However, the beef chunks and the noodles were disappointing. The beef chunks were not tender enough. They were quite chewy. The noodles had a flavor I found unpleasant. A strong sour/bitter flavor was present. I suspect it might be from lime or lye solution added when making the noodles. It reminded me of Miki noodles that I dislike very much.

The Garlic Fried Rice was just too salty for my liking.

The staff was prompt, and they were eager to please.

I would go back for the Bone...

Locavore delivers a fresh, elevated take on Filipino comfort food. The vibe is modern and lively, perfect for groups or casual date nights. Standouts include the Sugpo Mayonesa—perfectly cooked prawns coated in a rich, tangy mayo-based sauce—and the Oyster Sisig, which brings a creamy, savory punch with just the right crisp. Both dishes are must-tries and showcase Locavore’s flair for remixing local flavors. Portions are generous, and while prices are on the premium side, the quality and creativity make it worth it. Definitely a spot that satisfies both the appetite and...

Tried Locavore, and I have to say — the food is great. They offer modern Filipino dishes with a creative twist, which makes the experience both familiar and refreshing. The flavors are bold, and the presentation is impressive. The staff are attentive and provide good service, which adds to the overall dining experience. However, some dishes were a bit heavy on the MSG, which might not sit well with everyone. That said, the overall experience was still enjoyable, and the food quality makes it worth visiting — just something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to MSG.
