We had a special dinner planned for this week and chose Pizzulu because it’s close enough to our place.
We made a reservation and turned up before time. The staff quickly seated us.
The place is small but I loved the interiors. It’s stylish and cozy at the same time. The layout ensures all tables have privacy. We didn’t waste time ordering, we were hungry — no time for appetizers, bring us our mains!
We ordered 4 dishes: the Black Truffle Casarecce Pasta, Squid Ink Spaghetti with Seafood Pasta, the Four Cheese Pizza, and the Spinach and Bacon Pizza. Wifey ordered a Frozen Mojito which she loved on her last visit. I skipped alcohol because the evening was super warm. (Note: Wish I had ordered a wine, though).
If we were worried about a long wait time, it was unnecessary. By the time we had a few sips of water and some conversation, our first dishes appeared, our pastas.
I dug into the Squid Ink pasta but I was simply not prepared for the explosion of flavor. Oh my god, this was prepared by a true artist.
I then eyed my wife’s pasta, which looked creamy and umami. Snuck a bite when she was distracted. Once more, fireworks in my head. Pizzulu clearly has some super talented kitchen staff because both of these dishes were 10s.
And then came the pizzas. So I’m a bit of a pizza snob, and I was praying Pizzulu wouldn’t disappoint. Forget disappointing, BOTH pizzas went above and beyond my expectations.
We asked for honey and chilli flakes, and adding these sent the pizzas into the next dimension. My only feedback would be to add more bacon, because our pizza just had 2-3 tiny pieces. Older reviews indicate they were more generous with bacon.
I wish I could talk to the chefs here, they’re simply legends. I hope my words reach them, they should be proud of what they’re cooking here.
Special shoutout to Mike, who’s the supervisor of staff here. Gentle, attentive, polite, and a cheerful smile — he really made a solid impression on us. And he happily took photos of us too. He had his eye on all tables and I think we may have pestered him a few times too many, but he didn’t seem to mind! Thank you Mike, you definitely made us fans of your restaurant. 🙂
Are we coming back? A million percent yes, we’re just deciding when!

We arrived at a little past 7pm last night (Friday). It was packed but there were 3 tables that were empty with a reserved sign. We were asked if we were willing to wait. It was no problem since we were next in line. After waiting for some time, we asked if we could sit on the empty reserved table while waiting and assured the staff that we will get up as soon as the customer meant for it arrives. It took the staff a while to think about it and just gestured ‘ok’ and walked back in.
We then saw a party wrap up their meal and leave. The staff tidied the table and we assumed we were going to be seated after. We sat at the reserved table long enough to see that the staff looked and pointed at us a few times but did not seat us to the vacated table. We watched them giggle behind the counter and when we were finally seated, the staff that took our order did not bother to greet us or look at us, he just stood there with his pen and paper. No reaction. He only spoke when he repeated our orders. Whenever we called for their attention they looked pissed.
Another couple arrived with the same situation as ours, no one attending to them and when they sat on the reserved table we also sat ob, the other staff repeatedly said “that’s reserved, that’s reserved, that’s reserved”. Which I believe is not the customer’s fault since they were not attended to. (During our whole dine, the party for that table never arrived, they could have catered to 2 sets of customers on that table already)
We didn’t take long and decided to bill out. Unlike any fast-food chains that would greet you hello and goodbye, this place did not.
We were glad that the food served was great and quick, it made up for...
Read moreWe went here for my wife's birthday. The have a small menu which I think is just right. Starters, Soup, Pasta and Pizza. Price range is worth it for the food, somewhat the same as other Italian restaurants.
They are located at Forbes town center in front of Tipsy Pig. Indoor and outdoor dine in is available. Although we were not able to reserve for our lunch, we were greeted by Al who was accomodating and was consistently kind. I think they can cater to about 10 tables indoor and outdoor combined. So I suggest reserving during peak hours and days.
I have shared a few pictures of the food we ordered. -Mozarella Bacon Pizza -Truffle Pizza Bianca -Carbonara -Black Truffle Casarecce Pasta with Prosciutto -Cappucino -Iced Tea
Now for my personal review on the food *Mozarella Bacon Pizza -it was a nice combination, you can never go wrong with Bacon. The crust and the pizza itself is nicely done on both Pizza we ordered
*Truffle Bianca - good amount of truffle was used and not over powering the flavor of the whole pizza. Its a must try.
*Carbonara - I ordered it with the other pasta so I'm neutral about this dish. Seasoned well, more of the creamy side and the serving was generous.
*Truffle Pasta - the flavor was balance with the prosciutto, I think it could be better if the prosciutto was cut to pieces to evenly spread it for each serving.
*Cappucino- barely any foam, there's Starbucks beside as well and I did not think it is worth its price.
*Iced Tea - house blend, with a slice of lemon. Neutral about this.
*Gelato- Vanilla ice cream was ok, my wife said it was better when it was a bit melted already. Smooth and creamy.
Overall, the customer service is excellent and a...
