I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Dr Wine BGC on September 20, 2023, around 10:30pm. Upon arrival, it took an extended period for the hostess to attend to us, although the venue was busy. We were eventually offered a table on the patio. However, the male server responsible for the area overtly indicated his reluctance to have us seated, going so far as to discuss it within our earshot, causing significant discomfort. Super uncomfortable. However, the hostess stood her ground to tell him that she already gave us the table. This rude server stormed off almost hitting me even. If only my friend did not insist on staying as she had to meet somebody, I really would have left already.

The table was dirty, and we had to flag them down multiple times just to get it cleaned. The male servers outside pretty much ignored us, and it seemed like they cared more about chatting with other guests (caucasians or other foreigner guests) than paying attention to our requests and getting our orders. Plus, the orders took forever and the servers were rude as hell when they finally did show up. No smiles, nothing. They did not even bother arranging our table and just dropped the food down wherever there's space. Just wow!

And don't get me started on the bouncers. They didn't assist us at all during our stay but had the nerve to aggressively follow us to our car asking for tips. As a woman, this is super uncomfortable! I wasn't the only guest they did that to, but pretty much everyone. They would just stand outside doing nothing and when it's time for guests to leave, that's when they start being so active! Please please tell them to stop doing this especially to women because it is borderline harassment already!

What baffled me was the mandatory 10% service charge. It was like paying extra to be treated horribly. I would usually even give tips on top of a mandatory service charge but this one last night was against my will as I was treated so horribly. Imagine when the waiter arrived at my table, instead of politely giving it to me, he placed it ON TOP OF MY HAND BAG ON THE TABLE! The rudeness was unmatched I have never seen snarky male waitstaff like this ever! They say Philippines is the most hospitable country in the world but I guess this is only applicable to caucasians.

I'm never ever going back. If you belong to the minority race, think twice before going to this place. Staff are only nice to their caucasian guests. And please don't tell me otherwise as this was very very evident last night!

To the management, please check who was working the patio area on September 20, 2023, after 10:30pm. They need serious attitude adjustments....

Title: Dr Wine's Dual Persona: A Culinary Haven by Day, Hipster Nightclub by Night

As the clock struck 6 pm on a Saturday, I stepped into Dr Wine, immersing myself in an ambiance that spoke of tranquility and culinary indulgence. With no reservation, the gracious staff behind the entrance counter guided us to a serene spot on the second floor, sharing the space only with a family relishing an early dinner. Little did I know that this tranquil setting would soon transform into a lively hipster nightclub experience.

Having sifted through numerous online reviews, my expectations were set high for Dr Wine. The menu, an ode to traditional French cuisine, unfolded with promises of gastronomic delights. From foi gras to tantalizing steaks, the offerings were diverse, catering to various palates. Opting for a lighter dinner, my companion and I delved into a cheese board followed by a comforting bowl of onion soup.

The cheese board, though petite for my French sensibilities, pleased my Singaporean friend. An array of cheeses, paired with a perfect bread basket, set a delightful tone. Accompanied by a glass of unpretentious pink wine, the combination proved harmonious.

As the evening progressed, the traditional French onion soup, served piping hot, evoked nostalgia. A minor suggestion for improvement would be a friendly reminder from the waiter to exercise patience before tasting, preventing any accidental scalding.

Our leisurely evening was accompanied by a 2020 Barons De Rothschild [lafite] red Bordeaux wine, savored over two unhurried hours. Priced at around $120 USD, opinions on the expense may vary. Considered pricey for many Filipinos, my perspective leaned toward valuing the overall dining experience, making the cost seem justified.

However, the night took an unexpected turn at 10 pm. The music, once a subtle background melody, escalated to a lively beat, transforming the ambiance into that of a hipster nightclub. Added security, tall individuals with robust builds, ensured a manageable flow of guests. One of these imposing figures even went above and beyond, guiding us through the bustling ground floor to our car. This thoughtful service added a touch of exclusivity, making guests feel truly special.

In conclusion, Dr Wine's dual persona – a refined culinary haven by day and a vibrant hipster nightclub by night – provides a unique and dynamic experience. The transition, marked by heightened security and energetic music, showcases the establishment's versatility. While the cost may be subjective, the overall experience, encompassing delectable cuisine and attentive service, remains a...

An Unforgettable Wedding After-Party at Dr. Wine BGC

We had our wedding after-party at Dr. Wine BGC on February 22, 2025, and it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we inquired, we knew we were in great hands. Ms. Kath, the manager, was fantastic—warm, accommodating, and genuinely excited to help make our night special. She even took the initiative to set up the place for us, ensuring that every little detail was taken care of.

One of the biggest highlights of the night was the exceptional service. We had our own bartender, bouncer, and waitress, making sure our guests were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening. The surprise sparklers were such a fun touch, and the team’s energy really made the celebration even more exciting. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always ready to help, which made the whole experience even more memorable.

The atmosphere at Dr. Wine BGC was exactly what we were looking for—intimate yet lively, stylish yet cozy. It was the perfect place to keep the celebration going, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had. Everything flowed seamlessly, thanks to the amazing team that assisted us every step of the way.

Another thing we really appreciated was the custom menu, which was tailored to our preferences. The food and drinks were curated perfectly for our event, and the bottle keep service was a great bonus—we were able to store unopened bottles for another time, which was a thoughtful and practical touch.

Best of all, Dr. Wine BGC offers great value for money. The quality of service, ambiance, and overall experience far exceeded our expectations, making it well worth every penny.

We truly couldn’t have picked a better venue for such a special occasion. If you’re looking for the perfect place for a wedding after-party or any milestone celebration, Dr. Wine BGC is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Big big thanks to Ms. Kath and the rest of the team! You are...

📍 ᴅʀ. ᴡɪɴᴇ ʙɢᴄ - Dropped by Dr. Wine BGC for lunch with a few friends to try out their lunch set promo, and I’m glad I did. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. One of our group showed up very late, about two hours after our meetup time(I'm sorry towards the establishment) but the team remained gracious and understanding the whole time. While we waited, we ordered drinks and settled in, though I did feel a bit uneasy sitting that long without placing our full order. That said, the service never skipped a beat. Once lunch finally kicked off, every dish that came out was excellent. The portions were solid, presentation clean, and the flavors were spot-on, hearty, balanced, and satisfying. It’s not always easy to find a spot in BGC that delivers both value and quality, but Dr. Wine hits the mark. For a midday meal, it struck the right tone: relaxed, refined, and affordable. It makes it even better that everyone was happy with the choices they made for their own lunch set. For my set I went the light/fresh route starting with the tomato tartare with grilled watermelon which was the perfect start, not too heavy to start a lunch with. Although their prawn & avocado salad whispered to me as well. For the main, I had the catch of the day served with a green pea velouté. Delicate, comforting, and nicely seasoned, even though I totally forgot to ask what fish it was, oops. Dessert was the pear & almond clafoutis, which was a bit dry but otherwise an okay finish to the (late) lunch. Even during the quieter lunch hours, the ambiance was warm and inviting. You can tell this place transforms with the energy of the day, casual enough for an afternoon meal, yet polished enough to draw a lively evening crowd. Looking forward to returning, maybe next time with wine and no delays.
