A really nice place for a quality meal.
I'm a sucker for a good ramen. To the point where I'll have it in every place I'm in, that serves it. You can probably imagine I had it a fair few times, and this place jumped right in my top 3 go to ramen places. Tonkotsu was immaculately presented. The pork was everything you'd expect from a proper ramen. The smokey taste and meat cooked to perfection. Broth was very nice as well, not to salty but with a sufficient amount of tare. Soy sauce marinated eggs also made to perfection with a runny yolk. Noodles were very good but maybe slightly overcooked, but not to a point where they were falling apart so all within reason. The portion size is generous. When you go for the big one, be prepared to get stuffed. Very, very satisfying. This alone could win me over but that's not all. The nigiri was amazing too. The fish and scallops were fresh and served at room temperature. Everything was as it should be. A subtle hint of wasabi on the rice and some more really strong wasabi on the plate for the lovers of the extreme (like me). I'm really glad I found this place and certainly will come back.
One thing I would change if I could was the atmosphere in the place itself. I was missing a bit of coziness smaller sushi and ramen places often times offer. This was not a big deal though so overall I'm rating 5 stars. If you're in the area it's a place that should be on top of your food...
Read moreUnfortunately, the last few times in Sendai were not very good…
Physically the restaurant was half empty (with us, it was only 4 tables taken if I remember correctly), but we waited for our food for almost ONE HOUR. There was only one person, then someone else came to help, then everyone disappeared, then again only one person doing sushi (while I saw at least 2 more of them coming back and forth).
After the food I didn’t feel really well at home — bloated stomach and some sickness.
And another time we ordered a delivery, a set of sushi was missing, the restaurant didn’t reply to the phone, when I tried to reach them regarding this situation, as soon as I received the food.
But apart from that the way the packaging was done was worse than usual (we were used to receiving very well packed sushi from Sendai) — this time our tamago was squished on both sides with the cover of the packaging, no sauce on top and as I said, a set of sushi missing.
And 1 hour later we felt sick. I don’t think it’s a good price-quality ratio in recent months.
We loved this place before, especially the yuzu tea drink and tamago nigiri, but something really changed into a wrong direction.
For the price of 350 zloty for 2 people it could be much more decent.
I feel like the kitchen staff has changed or something...
Read moreVery disappointed. I went there because my parents had a nice experience there but it seems that it depends on the people who are serving there at the particular time. Despite bored waiter, no-one who is working there is wearing a mask!!!! I just came back to the country, and I am just shocked that waiters are willing to take risk or put clients at risk of getting sick!!!! I asked politely a chef about why they don’t put masks, he said that it’s not an obligation....and then he attacked me with questions if I know someone being sick now...unprofessional, impolite. I do not recommend. Apart from nice paintings and nice new place of Monopolis, there is nothing to go for to this restaurant. Food was good but it was a small quantity for high price. Lodz is my hometown and I know other better place on Moniuszki street (not saying the name not to make a publicity, it’s not a point). You will eat better and more for the same price and people are much nicer. Good luck! Also good luck for the owner of this place. I guess it’s difficult to find good people for the restaurant. But it’s almost done. The...
