Cafe & Restaurant Dobry Rok — Restaurant in Częstochowa

Last Saturday evening me and my friend went to "Dobry Rok" for some food and couple of drinks. We were served by a young, skinny waitress with a long brown hair; she came to collect money for our bill, we paid with a big note, expecting a change from it but she has never returned. It was embarrassing for me having to ask for it, she said that she thought it was a tip. My question is- how come waitress decided for us how much tip if any at all we were going to leave? It is individual, right? After this I actually did not want to leave anything as no one should be this greedy. I do not have any responsibility to tip that waitress however I would anyway as it is a kind and decent thing to do, but should never be persuaded to do so, it is just wrong and extremely rude. I decided to tell her to keep the money if we get just couple of drinks but after waiting for a quarter of an hour, we just left, as the service obviously was not for us that evening. Cheeky waitress kind of spoiled our good moods. Good location and cosy design, so I understand the prices however paying a lot in there- they could hire someone with a better customer...

DOBRY ROK….not so good We decided to give a try to this restaurant, since it is looked nice from outside. Unfortunately the food was average, but especially the “Gnocchi al ragu” was more like gnocchi floating with very little meat in a sauce not made of real tomatoes, it was sweet and tasted like tomato puree from pizza sauce, totally inedible. We asked for the manager, instead one of the waitresses (Natalia) came to our table from behind the bar; when I showed her the plate saying that you can’t give this kind of food to paying customer, she gave me a lecture about their food, telling me that “we get a lot of clients and they never complaint”, “this is Poland and this is the way we make pasta” and so on. This girl was very arrogant, conceited, definitely not customer service oriented. BTW, few days ago, before posting this review, I emailed the owner: I never got a reply. On a positive note, our waitress was extremely polite and nice, she apologized several times, obviously she is not the one...

My and my family were perfectly hosted and left Dobry Rok very happy (19/03). We were seated in a private dinning room - very cozy and nice for a small and private family gatherings. The food was realy good, tasty and pleasing the eye. All plates were served simultaneously. And last, but actually, the most important: the service. The waiter (unfortunatley I forgot the name), was perfectly prepared for his job, professional and present at the table always when we needed but never intrusive. We really loved it. Congratulations for the management and all team for creating such place, food and atmosphere. Thank you very...
