Lunch Bar i Pizzeria Wolański — Restaurant in Krakow

Everytime I visit Krakow, I eat almost daily at Bar Wolanski. I could easily eat at upscale restaurants, but I prefer Bar Wolanski. Yesterday, I ate a sirloin steak at an upscale restaurant, and did not enjoy it nearly as much as I did the chicken filet at Bar Wolanski, today. My mom originaly recommended I eat here, and I'm so glad I listened. The food here is super fresh, very tasty, and authentic to Polish style cooking. Someone here must love being a cook. Their salads (surowki) are exceptional, so I literally get two plates. Atmosphere is mellow, and the gentleman who takes your order has a very kind presence. This place has most of the traditional Polish foods, but better. I'm not even kidding. You'll get the same dishes downtown for 1.5 to 2x the price and often lower quality. Their kotlet schabowy is beyond compare, large meat, thin batter. Pierogis are great, thin dough, well cooked, delicious stuffing. Sharlotka (apple cake) portions are insanely generous and very tasty. The beer is always fresh. One of the OGs in this town run by the same family since the start....

Rodzinna biznes z wieloletnimi tradycjami. Menu niezmienne od dawna. Wybór posiłków niewielki ale danie tradycyjne. Takie które każdy lubi. Schabowy, mielony, filet panierowany, jakaś ryba, pierogi ruskie itp. Tradycyjne zupy, pomidorowa, dyniowa, barszcz czerwony a w niedzielę rosół. Lokal wypełniają najczęściej ci sami znajomi klienci stołujący się w nim od lat. Często starsze osoby. Pan i Pani obsługujący na przemian (chyba właściciele), sympatyczni, profesjonalni i bardzo szybcy. Pomimo tego stoi się w kolejce dość długo, ponieważ mają dużo pracy. Ziemniak zawsze są niesłone ale generalnie jedzenie jest bardzo dobre. Żadne wykwintne rarytasy tylko taka normalna kuchnia domowa. Na deser polecam szarlotkę, super. Jadłem tam wiele razy i polecam.
