Normally, you'd expect to find this type of restaurant in places like Old Town, Kazimierz, or Podgórze – and naturally, you'd also expect higher prices and a ridiculously crowded atmosphere. By the way is a refreshing alternative to all that. It's not right in the center of the city, but still within walking distance, and from what I can tell, it hasn’t yet caught the attention of social media addicts and bloggers (hopefully it stays that way).
We started the evening with a tasty fish soup, followed by a small plate of shrimp – perfect for dipping bread into the sauce. Then came a spaghetti and a risotto, both generous with seafood. The risotto was cooked just the way it should be. We ended the meal with an average tiramisu, but the complimentary limoncello was a great surprise – strong, well-made, and far better than what you usually get elsewhere. Definitely worth a try.
The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when it came to questions about the menu. Next time, I plan to go all in on fish dishes and update my notes. Until then, I can definitely recommend this place to anyone who...
Read moreNot a great selection if you don’t eat meat or fish. Asked for one of the few on the menu - orecchiette. They said it wasn’t available. So even less to choose. I asked for focaccia for starter. They presented slices of crispy flatbread!! Since when is focaccia flat and crispy? For a main, I had to order spaghetti aglio which on the menu was described as with chilli and spicy. It arrived - all 40g of it! Had no flavour at all and not in the slightest bit spicy. I had to ask for salt and pepper to flavour it. Are any of the chefs there actually Italian? Do they know Italian food? I declined to have a dessert as I didn’t want to risk further disappointment. The beer was nice - it’s not made in the restaurant! The service was good but the food was not restaurant standard. From what I see and the other three people I was with, they are pretending to be authentic Italian when they seem to be unaware of how Italian...
Read moreSimply blown away! Amazing! I was eager to dine here since I love seafood and they advertised everything was fresh. I ordered the Spaghetti alla Pescatora. The mussels, shrimps and octopus were so fresh. I was positively surprised. The quantity was more than adequate as well. My partner ordered the spaghetti arrabiata. It was perfect.
Service was brisk. We booked a table prior and it took us almost no time to get seated although we arrived a bit early. Our waitress, Natalia, was very friendly and very hospitable.
The atmosphere is great with minimal decor, an open kitchen and simplistic design. The place is located a bit away from the center so it avoids the hustle and bustle of the city center.
This place is a gem and a must visit if you are a fan of Mediterranean seafood or Italian food in general. Highly recommend if you are in Krakow! Will...
