Everything was just so thoughtfully done. There was bottled water in the fridge, and there were dainty, tasty cookies left in a bowl and wrapped in little satchels at bedside. The decor was lovely; the antique furniture was beautiful. There were many bathrooms, and all were nice. It was just wonderous to open the windows onto the lane below, which was full of life -- pedestrians only. The breakfast was more than we could eat, served in the bakery/cafe downstairs. Read moreI always go there. They have excellent selection of cakes that are tasty, big and affordable = pure joy. But the coffee, it's really bad. Low quality coffee is really damaging the experience, but you can wipe your tears with nice ice cream. I think this place is a definition of mediocrity and yet I go there often....
