Manekin — Restaurant in Poznan

Our train to Poznan got delayed and we Stepped in at 21:50 without much hope as google mentioned It closes at 22:00 . I asked the staff if they can manage to serve 2 pancakes . The staff further spoke to another staff and a girl working in kitchen and said yes after a minute. The second staff further came and confirmed to serve and handed us the menu to our table. Almost 7-8 other tables were occupied with twenty diners eating. A couple of minutes went by as we saw them serving food to other tables. We waited for the same staff to get free and take the order , who came and said the owner refused further orders. They could have asked the owner in the beginning itself. We moved our heavy suitcases to the table (the restaurant is at semi basement level after they agreed , waited just to hear NO , 5 minutes after their saying YES. Hopeless service! Shame on the owner as well , who cannot give clear instructions to the staff , who just agrees...

Neat place to eat, it's often busy, but food can be hit and miss. I ordered a crispy chicken tortilla, and the chicken was soggy and not at all crispy, perhaps a microwave job but I am not sure. Nonetheless it tasted okay. The other dish we ordered, pancakes in cream with spinach was good, and the side creams were also good. Overall though, great prices, food is OK, certainly better than some other much more expensive places. The place is noisy when packed but not the fault of anyone. Service is slow but I think because of a lack of workers. I saw a very dedicated guy cleaning the table rigorously seconds after the guests left and not stopping until it was very clean, I have never seen such dedication to cleanliness, and in general a speedy and awesome worker, which is hard and rare to see especially when the place is packed. He was also friendly (which is rare in Poland), so I really hope this review gets him...

Restauracja Manekin jest bardzo eleganckim miejscem, do którego zdecydowanie warto pójść. Menu oferuje szeroki wybór, a ceny jak na dzisiejsze czasy są przystępne.

Zamówiłem dwa dania. Pierwszym była szarpana wołowina z cheddarem, kukurydzą, szczypiorkiem, panko oraz sosem. Podane przeapetycznie tak, iż ślinka leciała na sam widok, a smak.. przebijał dotychczasowe doznania kulinarne. Przepyszne!

Drugim daniem również się nie rozczarowałem. Zamówiłem tagliatelle naleśnikowe z kurczakiem, szpinakiem, zieloną cebulką oraz śmietaną. Poczułem się jak w domu. Z jednej strony było to klasyczne domowe spagetti ze szpinakiem, ale z drugiej coś fenomenalnego, odkrywczego I zdecydowanie w wykwintnym wykonaniu.

Dla tych rzeczy na pewno wrócę do Mamekina!

Z minusów mogę napisać dwie rzeczy. Pierwszą zniechęcającą rzeczą, de facto świadczącą o jakości oferowanych usług, która odbiera lokalowi to długa kolejka. Aby wejść do lokalu czekałem ponad pół godziny. Jednak miła obsługa sprawiła, iż po wejściu do lokalu czekanie okazało się opłacalne. Odnośnie wejścia warto wspomnieć, iż stojąc w kolejce można było przejrzeć menu będące na ścianie budynku oraz pod koniec, tuż przy wejściu obsługa pytała się ile osób ma wejść, a następnie kierowała do wskazanego stolika. Kulturalne przywitanie i selektywne podejście do gości jest zdecydowanie na plus.

Drugim minusem jest ciemna łazienka. Zarówno damska jak i męska. Mam nadzieję, że załączone zdjęcia oraz filmik dobrze to oddają. Nie wiem, czy to celowy zabieg, ale gdy siadasz na tronie widzisz ciemność... Możnaby nawet humorystycznie do tego podejść: Jest ciemno... Cisza... Nigdy nie ufasz takim miejscom, ale za potrzebą nawet w takie miejsca się udasz, aby ulżyć Twemu ciału. Siadasz na tronie.. Nagle, w tym ciasnym pomieszczeniu zdajesz sobie sprawę, że coś na Ciebie patrzy. Moment niepokoju, ogarnia Cię strach. Zimny pot spływa Ci po plecach... To olbrzymia sowa patrzy na Ciebie, jakby chciała Cię pożreć... jedyne co Ci zostało to możesz...
