PANAYA — Restaurant in Sopot

I stumbled across this place earlier today when my wife desperately needed to use the toilet, and I was so glad we did! I sat outside, planning to buy a couple of drinks, as I normally do in exchange for using people's toilets 🤣 I was quickly approached by a male waiter who instantly recognised that I would require a menu in English. As I sat looking at the menu, I quickly realised we were in a Thai restaurant, which was not clearly apparent when we approached, as the signage was covered by the large umbrellas.

Once we finished our meal, the same waiter approached us again, and I was struck by his genuine passion for this establishment. Even though he was just an employee, it was clear he was genuinely happy that we had such a great experience here.

Looking at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised by the prices and suggested to my wife, when she returned, that we should eat here.

This was one of the best decisions we made during our week-long stay in Sopot. Sadly, today is our last day, so we won't have the chance to return now, but we'll certainly be coming back here on our next visit.

I don't often take the time to leave reviews, but the service here was five-star, and our food was cooked and presented to a Michelin restaurant standard. With so much to choose from in Sopot, I honestly wish we had found this...

It took me 3 visits to this place before writing this review. I wanted to try different dishes and I was never disappointed. I tried their cashew chicken, chilli and basil noodles and tom kha. Everything was fresh, delicious and full of amazing Thai flavours. Spicy, sweet, salty, sour. Everything you need. Poles are not into Asian food so do not be surprised the place is often empty. Go in and enjoy what it has to offer. It is worth it. The service is always with a smile but it could be quicker. We went to this restaurant twice in a one week stay in Sopot. We went back for a second visit as it was so good ! We would particularly recommend the Thai green curry with chicken - it was delicious! We also really enjoyed the tempura shrimps as a starter, Pad Thai with shrimps and the Massam curry was very tasty too.
