Chata Smakosza — Restaurant in Sopot

I usually don't leave poor reviews, but this place really merits it. This establishment leaves the impression that, at the core, it is not about serving good food, but rather about taking your money. If I could give a 0/5, I'd give it this note just for their really anti-client (skimping on quality, forced service charges, etc) practices alone.

The quality of food is lacking, shady commercial practices (witnessed not on my own table but rather a table next to mine - tourists, easy prey), and not to mention a third of the things we ordered finally had to be changed due to lack of ingredients. I understand that sometimes a restaurant can come up short, but in this case tell the client in advance or even when they place their order - not 5 minutes after.

To be clear, the food is not terrible, though it is certainly far below average and not acceptable quality for the price.

But their commercial approach makes anything good about the food spoiled. I'd be curious weather the management is driving this approach knowingly or not, or if this is at the initiative of the staff, as there is such a variety of ratings from terrible to 5/5 from other people who have visited this restaurant.

The location is good though.

Come here if you want to fall victim to another tourist trap in Sopot. Otherwise go find somewhere else on...

I discovered this lovely place the day before I was heading home ! Gutted ! It was fantastic, we ate there for the 2 days we had left because the food was fantastic! Not just good fantastic, we had four different mains everyone amazing and also amazing value, i was so good I have booked a trip back soon to sopot (which is a beautiful place) so as I can eat in this restaurant every day I am there, try the fish cooked in butter! It took a while before the waitres came. She served two other tables, while we were earlier then those guests. A fine, orded some dishes and we waited. After a very long time we received the dishes. The food was okay, The portions were a little bit small in my opion. Highly recommend the home made lemonade. With some hesitation we asked for the bill, how long are we going to wait for it? But with some luck it came fast. We asked why we had to wait for the food so long. The waitress told us that there was only one cook, while normally...
