The Mexican — Restaurant in Sopot

It was our first time in this restaurant. Menu is well put together and truly resembles Mexican cuisine. I’d like to think I know Mexican food very well because I live in USA and travelled all over Mexico. When everything was served - it didn’t quite match authentic flavors. It tasted okay (someone who never had Mexican food would say this was really good). Margaritas were not filled to full glass (I typically go for two rounds, I didn’t this time). Tortillas were hard, they are supposed to be very soft and made in house. The most disappointing part was lack of salsa and chips that’s served shortly after the guest is seated. We were given a tiny handful with no refills. Chips tasted like store bought in Żabka. This is a staple in Mexican hospitality and that was lacking. Our waiter was very nice. The guy behind the bar who was fixing our drinks had no life and energy, it took them forever to make 3 margaritas and he was working only on our order. This place is perfect for someone, who likes experiential restaurant! 🇲🇽

Now, it was discovered that the music and light can alter the food taste - this restaurant had both- lively music combined with occasional turnoff the lights. Still, the food tasted amazing - the chilli con carne in particular!

If you’re in for more of a calm experience I recommend sitting outside - inside there was a live music, loads of clapping and laughs which I believe belongs to the Mexican culture.

💵In this place you don’t pay only for the food, but also for the experience. The live music, the costumes the staff wears, the atmosphere. In that case the price is reasonable as you also take the experience with you. ~The avarage food here costs around 40 pln.

Recently had the misfortune of wasting an afternoon in this restaurant. Service was terrible, the worse I've ever seen or experienced. We were given a table straight away, but had to wait close to a half hour to have an order even taken for drinks, and we then ordered food at the same time. We then waited for our food and watched as tables around were filled with new customers coming in and ordered and receiving their food before us, we then had to find our waiter and ask when our food would be ready, for him to go and then tell us it would be another 10-15 minutes when it was already over an hour ago ordered. When we pointed out how long it taken for everything and how awful the service was, he didn't offer to apologize or admit to how long everything had taken or the fact that we had to repeatedly go to the bar or grab the attention of other staff all the time.
