Columbus Restaurant — Restaurant in Szczecin

We've been there for the first time since about 2-2,5 years break. At the glance you can see that a lot has changed, when it comes to service. The waitress serving us was very polite, she right away asked about the drinks, which before never or rarely happened. One would be approached with menus and left alone before anyone made it to open their mouth. So that was already a pleasant beginning of the evening . For starters we ordered tuna tartare to share, then duck and pork knuckle as mains. We were right away brought the cutlery for all the foods for the evening, I think that already represents different standard. Alright, tartare is now served in a completely different way, so it's good, they are trying new things. My partner was fond of the new version, I kind of less. It was something about the fish texture that has changed, I don't wanna bribe, I'm just not sure what that was. Less avokado. But the fish tasted good, I think it was fresh, and that's the most important thing. Now... I didn't know I have to ask to serve the next dish AFTER I'm done with the first one, but apparently yes. As people taking their time to eat and taste and chat we were surprised about the mains arriving at the table in the middle of the starter. That was very disappointing, I must say. By the time I finished my first course, french fries were sloppy and cold (btw, those are rather dicke pommes) and I hate it, cause you just wanna have crispy golden, don't you? The duck. The duck breast is served already cut, which gives it a nice touch for the presentation, at the thick part you could see it being pinkish, very nice. It comes with cherry sauce and I had big problems with that one. It was kind of good, but I think, I don't know if I'm right, that the alcohol hasn't quite vaporized and you could taste it while eating. Nevertheless, I liked the dish, I had better ducks, but this one was really ok. The pork knuckle now. It's served with waay less cabbage, this bigos type, such a pity. But overall experience was really good, good portion, tender meat, super nice, a dish to repeat, as always. The mustard and horseradish served with the knuckle fit soo well. Columbus Restaurant holds a nice cosy atmosphere and good service and food. There was life music, kind and polite waitress and fine prices. One of me and my colleagues' (group of 9) WORST restaurant experiences period:

Food took 2 hours and 20 minutes to arrive. Even the drinks took 50 minutes to arrive!

One person in my group ordered a rhubarb tea and was told it was out of stock, so she ordered a different ice tea. The ice tea she got was filled with ants. Then she asked if she could replace this with another and the waitress gave no acknowldgement and just walked away.

The same person above ordered a steak and asked she wanted it medium to well done. She got a bloody red steak.

Another person got a steak but ordered a tuna.

I ordered 2 kinds of pierogi and the waitress brought just 1.

Everytime we told the waitress that they got our order wrong, we received the same um, are you sure? Because that's not what you ordered" response. We know what we ordered!

One person asked for a blanket because it was getting late outside and cold. The waitress ignored her.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST....given everything that happend above, you would expect at least a apology at the end. No, what we got when we went to pay the bill was "sir, by the way, there is a 10% extra charge for groups larger than 10 people". ARE YOU SERIOUS?! AND WE...

I had TERRIBLE service in my life. If you wanna waste of your time. You should visit here. I have arrived at this restaurant at 9:35pm and took 15 minutes to get order a pina colada and horrible waitress don't care their guests at all and I saw some of guests who were very tired of waiting for waitress went to the waitress by themselves. Finally at 10:20pm my server came to me saying "what do you want to order?" and I was like "Do you remember what i order?" And she said "We don't have pina colada" and she even say "sorry" at all. I felt this restaurant doesn't care guest service at all. So i left. Such a waste of my an hour. Thanks to the location, it must be running well. If your time is precious, you shouldnt visit here. If not, you must go this place to waste...
