Where to start. I don't know if it's the head chef or restaurant's manager, but something happend for sure and throughout the years we noticed a great degrade in both food and service quality. First time we started going there must have been around 5 years ago. The food was really good and I mean whatever you ordered. The meat was prepared properly, salads - beautiful, sides always made with care. Flavours and smells were amazing. Waitresses spread good atmosphere, always positive attitude and willing to help. So that is a good memory I have of this place, cause later it got mostly worse. Meat, the famous steaks, served on a hot plate, ordered blue, rare or medium always arrived done, tasting only of rosemary instead of beef. Fries? Thrown on cold grease were soaked with it, pale and munchy instead of crispy golden. With salads you could see that single pieces were cut with no care, tons of dressing, nothing as it used to be. Some might not care, but when I get a beer, especially wheat, without a crown it drives me crazy, cause it also shows lack of respect for the product and the guest. Burgers remain good, though some not that spicy anymore. Soups are fine, the corn one real good. The service. Hmm. There was one waitress, who was very nice and polite every time. The others kind of moody and sulky. Whatever the reason, cause there were some for sure, despite our politeness we would face a wall. And the ceilings! Small thing but. In such a nice venue with dark wood and all, they painted it kind of white, brushed, see through. Ay, I don't know, to me it destroyed the whole cosy atmosphere. The breakfasts were a good call. Quite a portion in good price. You get both sweet and savoury positions. There are not many places to get a breakfast in Szczecin, so that's really nice. Alright, summing up. If someone is looking for just a place to eat, not paying too much attention to the quality of serves, sit with friends and chill with beer, then it's definitely a place to recommend. Cause it's not bad or terrible, just not as good as it used to be. If, on the other hand, you're looking towards an interesting food experience with some extra value added, there are better places around the city. For example even the sister restaurant, Columbus, offers the view and in my opinion...
Read moreI chose this place because I was attracted by the outside terrace, which unfortunately was closed due to the chilly weather. The restaurant seemed well staffed, and service was indeed one of the highlights of the evening — attentive and friendly throughout. I also enjoyed the IPA beer I ordered, which was excellent.
Food, however, was a bit underwhelming. We tried the Jack Daniel’s Burger and the Chicken Fajita. The burger didn’t quite live up to what you’d expect from a specialized burger place nowadays: the bun was too large compared to the meat, and the patty itself was dry and tough. I was hoping for a stronger whiskey note, but instead it tasted more like a standard burger with BBQ sauce. On the positive side, the batata fries were delicious — crispy, well-fried, and nicely salted.
The Chicken Fajita was also disappointing. The chicken lacked flavor, and the seasoning felt very basic, which was surprising for a Tex-Mex restaurant where spices should shine.
That said, the drinks (both the beer and the lemonade) were very enjoyable, and thanks to the great service and friendly staff, the overall experience was still pleasant. Perhaps we just didn’t make the best choice of dishes, and other items on the menu might be...
