I checked many reviews before booking the restaurant to see what people liked and didn't like.
We got a lovely, cozy table for two and an excellent waiter who was charming but also gave good recommendations on dips to select and portion sizes. He always had an eye on us, so he was there and cared whenever we needed something. I have to admit, the time was 18:30, so the restaurant was not jam-packed. If they have to cover all tables at the same time, I understand it can be stressful. The music was relaxing. The surrounding sound of the restaurant was comfortable, but if it were full and everyone was talking, the acoustics might be suboptimal due to the high ceiling. And yes, there is a gym with glass windows on top of the restaurant. Some guests wrote they were bothered by this. I couldn't care less; you don't see too many people there, and they also don't care and follow their training regimen. The color concept was very appealing. The light at the time we were there was perfect, but later in the evening it could appear a bit dark. They also have tables outside, but I find the atmosphere inside is much better. Also, you don't smell any cooking nuances in the restaurant. This is all blown to the outside, giving the neighbors around a hard, mouthwatering time.
The cocktail served with dry ice was top-notch. First, the presentation was outstanding and special, but the cocktail was also composed excellently. They serve you with a breadbasket and self-made butter—both very good quality. The meat was on point, very delicious, served on a wooden plate, which is common for steak restaurants nowadays, and sprinkled with fleur de sel. I can understand that some might miss the extra crusty layer of a steak depending on which country you are from and what you are used to, but I couldn't say anything negative about it. The side dishes were tasty and well-seasoned. I cannot understand the comments that they should be boring. The coffee was Julius Meinl coffee (you might know this brand from Vienna), top quality as always.
They added a 10% service charge, but anyway, we would have tipped them with 10%, so this is totally fine.
Based on our experience, I am happy we went to that restaurant. We had a wonderful time and excellent food, and I can recommend...
Read moreWe spent our Sylvester Eve at Prime cut, hoping for a memorable evening, but unfortunately, the experience was marred by several disappointments.
First, despite our 10 PM reservation, we were kept waiting for an additional 15 minutes before being seated. To make matters worse, the restaurant lobby was under construction, making the wait uncomfortable for the 10 or so guests lingering there.
The food was generally good, except for the burger, which was a major letdown. When we shared our feedback with the staff, it was completely ignored, leaving us feeling unheard.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the failure to deliver on a special request. Upon arrival, I handed a cake to the host and asked for it to be presented as a surprise for my wife later in the evening. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty, this request was entirely forgotten.
Adding to the frustration, there was no Sylvester atmosphere at all. No music, no countdown, and no festive gestures at midnight. For such a special occasion, the lack of effort was disheartening.
As if all of this wasn’t enough, we later discovered a mistake on our bill—two additional drinks were charged that we never ordered. Unfortunately, we only noticed this after leaving the restaurant, further souring the experience.
For a restaurant of this price range and reputation, these repeated missteps were simply unacceptable. While the food (with one exception) was enjoyable, the service, ambiance, and attention to detail were severely lacking, completely overshadowing what should have been a...
Read moreI like this restaurant. The wagyu is okay but won’t knock your socks off. In this place it’s better to opt for more classic style choices in regards to steak in my opinion. They’re usually quite good. Even more so than the food I like this place for the style, interior and the vibe. It’s a pity they no longer allow dogs. I used to come here for lunches with my dog all the time a couple years back. He was always well behaved. He’s a well trained dog who calmly lays and waits (as if he weren’t even there) whenever we go to restaurants. So I think it’s a real shame that everyone looses the privilege due to one situation where some “misbehaved dog caused hammock for the customers”. The current manager has a very negative approach towards hosting dogs based off this one instance which I personally think is unfair. If they hosted one misbehaved human guest - they wouldn’t stop hosting people all together, now would they? So why does my dog (who truly is perfectly behaved, anyone will tell you that) have to pay the price? Ridiculous. Mostly inconvenient. Now when we crave having steaks while we’re out with our dogs - we go to ‘beef and pepper’ instead where they’re not only dog-friendly but they actually offer dog beds and toys to keep the pooches happy while waiting.. completely opposite approach. ..And although I understand and respect that prime cut is going for more exclusive of a standard, I still think this is worth a reconsideration. Not all dogs are the same, just like people. Some are trained to behave in public...
