There’s a lot of noise around certain restaurants these days—Google reviews bubbling over with adjectives, friends urging you to go, vague promises of “the best burrito in town.” More often than not, these places buckle under the weight of their own hype.
Señor Lucas is the glorious exception.
I visited on a sunny afternoon with a lady friend of the vegetarian persuasion. It was busy—clearly no hidden gem anymore—but the atmosphere was relaxed and everything moved like clockwork. The ordering process was smooth, we found a seat outside without fuss, and the food arrived within five minutes—exactly as promised. (Bonus point for clear, honest communication. Rare and refreshing.)
Now, the food. I had the barbacoa beef burrito and I can say, without hesitation, it was out of this world. Rich, tender meat, perfectly seasoned—but the true revelation was the tortilla. Soft, warm, just the right thickness—one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been around.
The staff were warm, switched-on, and fluent in English. One even took a moment to tell me a bit about the origins of the restaurant. You could feel the pride, and rightly so.
As for my lady friend, she was deeply content with her veggie choice—so much so that when she finished the leftovers cold, hours later, she still made a point of telling me how good it was. That’s staying power.

Read moreOkay this place is without a doubt the best tacos over eaten. They were soo good. Over the past few years I’ve tried to come to this place but they don’t take reservations and they used to be based in a very small literal hole in the ground. They’ve since moved and we went today and it was everything I thought it would be. I had the barbacoa tacos with super hot sauce but I didn’t find the sauce that hot I’ll be honest. But still so good. My friends got barbacoa in burrito with medium sauce and it was good for them. We also got nachos to share which were really good. The taco dish comes with 3 tacos which at first you think isn’t going to be enough but it so is. I got coriander extra on my tacos which was needed for the added freshness. It’s very affordable for a lunch or dinner meal but it’s a place you eat and leave. Not to sit and have lengthy meals. It’s a quick bite. It’s counter service and the staff are really nice. It’s a quite crowded and cramped and I’m sat thinking since they moved why didn’t they move to a rather bigger place since they do so well with customers. They do deliver too at certain hours to which my friend attests that the food holds structure freshness warmth...
Read moreOk here’s the thing — the food is some of the BEST I’ve ever had. The burritos are truly out of this world amazing. The filling, the homemade burrito shell, everything about it. But…you may or may not be able to even have it. I went walk-in twice in one week, and the first time was Sunday around dinnertime, and I had to wait 45 minutes for my food (one burrito). Understandable because of the day and time. But I tried coming again two days later on a Tuesday around 2pm, and they told me there was no way they could make my lunch in anything less than one hour because they were so swamped with online orders (same as first time and again, just trying to order a single burrito). It seemed really ridiculous that anyone who walked in was so last priority to the point where they couldn’t even order or eat without having to wait that long for it. If it’s only catering to deliveries than perhaps they should just close the store front because it’s so disappointing to come in twice and not be able to order food in a timely fashion. I had to walk out without the food unfortunately and didn’t go back...
