This is an excellent, high-quality, relaxed hotel. Great for travellers and business people alike with views of the Pałac Kultury i Nauki and the new business high-rises contrasting nicely behind.
Located with a plethora of transport connections - Warsaw Central station, tram, bus lines covering north, south, east and west, another train station and the main Metro line all within a few steps - you can get almost anywhere in Warsaw, simply and quickly.
The old town is a simple Metro/tram/bus ride with a short walk... or a short walk down to Krakowskie Przedmieście/Nowy Świat and a then a bus trip (or stroll) past the also historic tourist sights to the castle.
The airport is quick and simply accessed by taxi or train (the airport is in zone 1 with about a 30 minute ride). The main business district is a short walk or quick public transport trip away.
The hotel is elegant and professional with an excellent calm and relaxed atmosphere. The building is historic in appearance and fully modern in function. The rooms are well-sized with good, spacious bathrooms. I particularly like that there is ample space for laying your toiletry bag and toiletries to be easily accessed where you need them. The gym is simple, but sufficient with towels and water provided and an adjoining wellness centre for massages. The service by the staff is on-point and unobtrusive showing evident experience. The in-room safe is quite large for its type and very easily takes a 15" laptop and I would presume also a 17" would fit very easily. Service by the staff is quick, efficient, professional and unobtrusive.
The food in the hotel is excellent. The breakfast at the hotel is excellent, and definitely great value, being comprised of solid range of real, quality ingredients which is being constantly refreshed, even as the end of breakfast time approaches. The breakfast really speaks to the quality offered by the hotel - see photos (taken well after the start of service, so some depletion shown).
Apart from the very good fare available in the hotel, there are a lot of restaurants and shopping in the area of covering quick, cheap and high-end fine quality options.
The hotel's location is almost centralised on a number of shopping areas. The Złote Terasy shopping mall is next to the Central Station. The street leading outside the hotel to Złote Terasy is being upgraded with new shops. Facing the other direction can be seen a number of buildings with high-street chain shops, behind which is Chmielna which is an average shopping street leading to Krakowskie Przedmieście and the route to the castle and old town. Heading east on Al. Jerozolimskie brings more shopping and restaurants and a collection of high-end shops at the Vitkac building. Turning right on Bracka brings Mysia with the Mysia3 design shopping building and also Mokotowska which runs with more quality shopping and some other eateries with a lot more vegan options in the area. Heading south along Mokotowska comes to Koszykowa, marked on the corner by the cool-girl Bizuu store with a few cool designer boutiques down the road to the east and Plac Konstytucji to the west with quick trams, bus and Metro to the hotel or old town. On the western side of the Plac Konstytucji, Koszykowa continues with Hala Koszkyi and its eating and shopping options.
All-in-all, this is an excellent hotel with a location and transport connections to take advantage of everything Warsaw has to offer. The surrounds contain options in both dining and shopping to suit all budgets. No matter whether you are a tourist or business person, the Polonia Palace is well-set to satisfy your needs with a relaxing calm and professional atmosphere.

Read moreGreat: location, super clean, polite staff, beautiful lobby, good choice of good quality foodstuff for breakfast Not great: rooms impersonal - like typical corporate hotel, rooms with interior tad outdated, same as bar (breakfast room got more character), not clear that tap water is not suitable for making tea (if you find water bottle stashed behind coffee machine - this is for making drinks and boiling in kettle. If you use tap water - it is disgusting)
I think I expected more from 4star Hotel which is more of historical exterior/interior. My room is beige but not so tastefully beige... but more tired, any hotel in the world beige. I did not expect brown, square patter stripe running through the room at 2/3 of hight - i was more on the line: cornices or maybe art nouveau or deco style... but not corpotate averagness. My bathroom (very clean) is 90's style sunshine yellow with parts of wall having said paint flaking off from humidity (did I mentioned black stripe through the wall mid way?). There is a bath tub instead of shower which is needed so much for easy access (plus who takes bath in hotels :-/?). The electrical plugs do not have usb charge (strange for international hotel). The bed look comfy but this is where comfort finishes. It does not feel like spring matress but more of foam = you tad sink in (and on bed you'll find lots of pillows - 6 in fact - which I think it is a bit wasteful as said pillows should be stored in wardrobe - soft or firm one and small one, for guests to take if they wish). No messages about saving water or being conscious about towel use to save energy and water... for hotel of this caliber I expected a bit more environmental awareness. Whole interior is just outdated. Love to see however fridge, where you can put in some shopping if you wish, kettle with good choice of teas, nespresso coffee machine (though I am not so keen on the brand due to it being environmental unfriendly- pods are not recyclable). There are glasses too but no ice bucket or ice machine nowhere is sight, so no rose or champagne for me unless I guess I would need to order from bar... Breakfast offers good choice of food as buffet, I personally prefer less and have more offered to be cooked to order as always fresh and less waste. The waiter tried to be polite and kept cleaning my plates, but without asking me is it OK while I was eating. So, no, it is not OK to clean up my bread plate and butter knife if I am half way through my breakfast as I might want to go and pick up extra bun (again, no environmental thinking nor thinking about intrusivness). What really put me of were: customer spilled coffee on the floor, waitress was taking me to table and passed poor man scrambling to wipe it off instead of saying: please do not bother, I will do it but I will need to show this guest to her table first through and I will be back with you in a minute... I asked waiter (who so eagerly kept taking every plate which looked potentially empty from my table) - what the dessert was as cought my eye in pastry area. He did not know and told me to go and ask kitchen. WHAT? Hun, you should know all the goods served as some people have allergies. Luckily I do not have allergies but my breakfast was not as great through as I did take lovely looking dessert expecting fruit mousse, which would have been quite refreshing... well it was not - it was caramel flan with mango pearls on it (I felt bad for wasting food). Again, feel sorry for the guy as he was kept rather busy when 2 other waiter/waitress were enveloped in personal conversation and paind no due...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed there for 4 days just last week. We booked through Agoda who we have used a handful of times in Europe without an issue. When we checked in a very dry customer service guy told me that my room was a twin when I knew I had booked a queen. He said that I was wrong and despite knowing that wasn't the case, I didn't have wifi and so I let it go (but i couldn't). We went to the room and noticed indeed it was not the room I booked and we simply couldnt make it work with 2 little beds when my husband is 6'3"; I connected to wifi and searched my reservation which indeed stated a queen room or double standard. We went back downstairs and I showed it to him, he said it didn't matter and that we either took the twin or i had to pay for an upgrade to a king room in order to stay there. He said the "reservation department is closed for the day (230 pm) and that I should check the next day for an update and correct the mistake " as I had just paid over $100 for this unnecessary upgrade. I checked the next day , I was told that the mistake was made in the "third party agent" and that the hotel wasn't responsible. When I paraphrased this back to the agent on the counter, she said "no, it's not what I mean, we will contact them later and will resolve this for you". She asked me for my email and phone number to which I reluctantly gave as I knew it wouldn't go anywhere . Next morning, Sunday, I unfortunately meet again with another unhelpful customer agent at the front who repeated the same as the previous that she was aware of the issue and that it would be corrected by the hotel. On Monday, I unfortunately met again with this rude and not customer friendly customer "service" -his name is Fabian- at the front counter - the one who charged me for the room at checknin- and told me that it wasn't the hotel issue, that it was for me to resolve. I asked for his manager - a young , annoyingly fake and very uninformed manager whose name was Natalia that was in the back room, and to which Fabian clearly debriefed in 3 short minutes when he closed the door while I'm waiting, and when she came out smiled and repeated the exact same thing he just told me. No willingness to remediate the issue, lack of accountability, deceitful to the customers and ultimately ruined the otherwise enjoyable experience. I recommend Warsaw, not this hotel. Oh, and as we are leaving our room for breakfast on day 3, we smelled something funny in our room but couldnt make sense of it, and when we left to go downstairs we see a pest controller guy with a tank on his back going into the rooms which for me, its a no no. Customer service is paramount and this hotel made a big mistake , I told Fabian - and i assume he informed Natalia- that i would write this review and since he didn't care, I hope someone does .UPDATE: your Hotel's reply was aligned with what your customer service demonstrated so far: lies, gaslighting and sarcasm. Shame on you. And you may want to contact Agoda and tell them what you wrote in your response as when I contacted them they apologized profusely about your lack of adherence to the original booking which they confirmed to be a queen /double standard and not what you claimed it to be. They provided me with a fair resolution on YOUR behalf. Hope you train your employees to align with the warmness and honesty of Polish hospitality which lacks in your...
