Bom Apetite — Restaurant in Albufeira

Was recommended this place by a local lady so we thought we would give it a try. We phoned to book for a table for 20 people at 7:30. We eventually got our food at 10ish after 3 people had to leave from our group to get their child home for bed and take their food home in a takeaway box which was rushed. None of us got our food at the same time and some of it was inedible. The fish was frozen and not fresh , the chicken was dry and a burger was raw. We weren’t offered any drinks after the first round, we had to go up to the bar to order. We were told it was due to a not very good new member of the kitchen staff. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone visiting wanting to experience good local food. This was meant to be a nice meal for our family however this was ruined by overall terrible slow service. Wow! What can I say.. my partner and I stumbled upon this place yesterday whilst looking for a particular salad, they happened to have it on their menu outside so we went in. We were delighted to find the goats cheese and walnut salad, and my partner opted for the tuna salad. As you can see from the photos, we were served a mountain!! (But delicious) looking salad, which we struggled to eat all of but was of such great value. The staff I assume were family, and everyone was so lovely. We then returned the next day for another salad, and my partner opted for the steak & egg. Aging was delicious & we ate the lot. Brilliant value and would recommend coming here a thousand times over. Had been looking forward to this important meal as previously enjoyed the interesting food enthusiast conversation with Sandra plus the food…. However,so disappointed with Christmas dinner, pre booked and paid. Choices made ( veg options were given) arrived and sold out!! Off the street arrivals given the works, but not for those who had booked. Cold, soggy vegetables, had to be reheated. Dried , tired small portions of meat and a very hot vegetarian option. Greed. Went back again and found no interest in the food anymore. Freezer to fryer, with no finesse....
