This is a great place in Algarve, good food, served and prepared by friendly folks.
They serve full dishes, but I went there looking for "petiscos", think Portuguese version of tapas. Typically a bigger dish than tapas, but small enough to order 4 or 5 and share with friends. I was in a party of 2 and we ordered several.
First was Lulilhas Algarvia, these are fried baby squid, super flavourful, and once you try them, you will know what calamari should taste like.
Next, we had the octopus salad. If you never had octopus, be adventurous. This is delicious. The salad mixes octopus, bell peppers, onions, and fresh tomatoes.
We also had "Migas" with pork. Migas is like a paste or porridge made from bread with olive oil, garlic, and cilantro. To this, they add fried chunks of pork seasoned with garlic, paprika, and a touch of vinegar. Again, the flavors just explode in your mouth.
Finally, we wanted some seafood and ordered the clams. These are cooked simply on a hot pan with olive oil garlic and a touch of wine. After devouring the clams, you'll find yourself getting every last bit of sauce with pieces of bread.
I'll have to come back and try the rest of the Petiscos.
As a side note, we had the best sangria ever. Lots of different fruits, prepared to order, 4 different shots of drinks, and wine. It was delicious.

Read moreAte here 2 nights ago. We were greeted warmly & our order taken efficiently. However the waitress made a mistake with my order as I requested rice & it was delivered with chips. Some 20minutes later the steak with rice was placed over my shoulder & slammed on the table. My husband's meal was now cold as he tried to wait & eat with me. We had no apology & were treated by the waitress with contempt. While the food is very good make sure they get your order right because if it's wrong you are treated with hostility. The other waitress was charming with us but we do not wish to dine somewhere that makes you feel uncomfortable for...
Read moreAbsolutely fabulous restaurant! We ate here on 2 evenings during our week stay in Guia and on both occasions were treated brilliantly by the hosts, who did everything possible to make the experience memorable. The restaurant itself is a lovely quaint setting for a meal. The food was gorgeous. We opted for the mixed meat platter with T-bone, which was cooked to perfection. There was more than enough to eat, for just €30 each. Another dish worthy of mention was the Cantinho style meat, which had thin slices of potato surrounding it. We also had the 2l white sangria, which was lovely. Genuinely cannot recommend this restaurant...
