Our choice of restaurants for the week holiday we were spending in Albufeira last January, was already made and planned for. Pizzeria da Enzo was top of the list, we love good pizzas and this address was apparently what seemed the best around. We also like to eat early in general and often are the first clients. We arrived at the restaurant around 12:15 but nothing seemed to look as if it was opened despite the advertised opening times. We approached the door and saw that there was light in the kitchen, a good sign though nothing appeared prepared! A guy suddenly appeared with his refuse bag and we asked whether it was ok to have lunch. He seemed dismayed by the question and immediately said in a not so welcoming tone that it was not yet opened. Continuing to walk away with his rubbish bag while I was asking at what time it would be possible to eat, he replied that possibly at 12:30 but maybe more likely 13:00! Adding that he was not ready, which of course was obvious. I highlighted the fact that we had come here based on the information shown on Google map for the restaurant's opening hours and that we were already 45 minutes past the official advertised opening time. He replied in a bit of a stressed manner that he had to prepare the opening, which anyone of course can see as an obvious statement though an opening time is to most people's mind the opening time for the clients not the staff! This was not starting well and jarred totally with all the reviews we've read about this place. It was really disappointing to say the least and we'll never have the opportunity to taste how wonderful the pizzas are. A real shame and a bad note for the...
Read moreA little hidden gem in the heart of albufeira. Still run and managed by authentic Italian family. The pizzas were amazing and cooked to perfection. The pasta dishes were also very good. All the ingredients were fresh and the pastas home maid in the kitchen. My wife had the lasagne that was served ultra hot in its ceramic dish but was a little overcooked burnt in places but was aonly cool enough to eat once other people had completed their meals. A great go to place of you like a quick meal away from the dense hustle and bustle of the tourists and enjoy a great meal in a place where you can talk to your friends without having to shout at each other. Nice ambient music. The waiter was also the owner who also cooked the pizzas. Really nice place...
Read moreWe found Enzo’s in 2017 on our first visit to Albufeira and returned on holidays in 2018 and 2019 (for multiple meals!).
We absolutely love the food, the staff and the atmosphere. It’s a small family run restaurant and the family clearly love what they do.
We visited again this week after a 4 year absence from Portugal and it was just as good as we remembered! Omar (waiter/chef) is one of the nicest and most genuine guys you could ever meet, treating all of his customers with great warmth.
You won’t find a better Italian restaurant...
