This is a restaurant I so badly wanted to give 4 stars to but ended up giving 3.

The experience might be totally different if I was a returning customer but that’s for another day. I was told this was THE chicken place in the world of Portuguese cuisine.

I had no clue of how big this place really is and if you approach for the first time it’s small from presence belies it’s enormity.

They have their own parking space on their property so don’t park on the village roads if you can help it.

The table service let the restaurant down. I wish our waiter had introduced us and asked if we’d been there before, before he launched into the assumption that he knew perfectly well what we wanted.

Let me warn you now that although the chicken was really tasty it’s not actually a chicken you’re going to eat. It’s more like a baby chick that’s been alive for two weeks - TINY and for an adult this will simply not satisfy.

If you like hot spicy don’t accept the ‘hot’ version they offer but instead request a separate bowl of peri peri - which is awesome.

I’m h, be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes to...

Not worth the hype - but the experience is definitely worth it.

Based on personal recommendations, we visited this restaurant to try the most famous dish (Frango Piri Piri). Completely surprised by the immense crowd an hour before lunchtime, we spent the nearly 30-minute wait in the bar area outside the door with dozens of other potential guests, only to be seated about half an hour later. The service is fast and efficient; guests are served promptly and without any significant wait time. The ordered dishes also arrive after a short time. (5/5 stars, also because of the "experience")

Food:

Unfortunately, the signature dish didn't convince me. The portion was rather small for a whole chicken (or rather, the chicken was a quail) - unfortunately, there was no trace of piri piri; if anything, it was subtly spicy and very oily. The side dishes (chips and tomato salad) can be confidently recommended (2/5 stars).

Overall, 3/5, because the food should be more important than the "experience" of having to wait in line for it. I don't plan on...

Wow. Just wow. Let’s start with the great food that they serve. They focused on the Piri Piri chicken which they really know how to serve. In combination with the tomato salad and the fries it gives a delicious dinner. The spicy aswell as the non spicy version are both really a good choice.

I am still fastcinated that they don’t use tables or pen and paper to order but oldacool phone like devices to which they put in the order numbers which they all know by heart.

The staff is friendly and competent. Even tho it’s a large restaurant they are quick and pay a lot of attention to all the guests.

As you can’t reserve bring some time as you might need to wait. Last time we waited 45 mins which were worth it all the way.

The desserts were also quite delicious. Maybe a little bit sweet but good in the taste and the variety to choose from was adequate. Don’t get deterred by the old fashioned desert card. The desserts are...
