We tried this restaurant as a final meal for our family that were leaving the following day.
On arrival the music was extremely loud, very distracting!
We ordered drinks, when they arrived the waiter was passing the drinks to my partner to hand out to everyone and then spilt beer over my partner, very unprofessional from the get go!
My brother- in-law and I ordered the breaded shrimp starter, when it arrived it was battered not breaded, but ok no problem. I took my first bite to then discover they hadn't been cleaned properly before cooking, the digestive track hadn't been removed, I opened up another couple and they were all the same, as was my brother-in-law's. Absolutely disgusting, a very simple task in the process of cleaning shrimps!! I mentioned it to a waiter, he apologised and took both plates away and said the would bring us fresh dishes, another waiter appeared and said no but would give us 10% off our bill, I said no, please take the cost of the two shrimp dishes off our bill.
Whilst waiting on our main dishes, the staff decided to redress a table, they were dragging chairs very loudly across the tiled floor and were banging the side plates etc onto the table, very off putting and very unprofessional!
Our mains were served, I opted for the Gnocchi, it was passable, very heavy on the mozzarella though. Three of my family had the Lasagne, presented in a skillet type dish it looked nice but it had an unpleasant texture, could easily have just come out the microwave, very standard.
Twenty minutes after finishing what we ate of our meal, our table still hadn't been cleared! The staff were just hanging around!!
We asked for the bill, it arrived within a minute🤔, after checking it, they had removed the price of the two shrimp dishes. Another apology would have been good to hear, but no🤨 as i said before, a very unprofessional establishment.
Overall, we were all looking forward to this restaurant but left very disappointed to say the least and is the worst 'Italian' restaurant we have ever had the misfortune to eat in. Opted for one star as no option to select zero. We...
Read moreIn an unexpected twist of culinary fate, the establishment that once set the standard for a classic pizza experience has taken a turn into the avant-garde, eschewing the traditional circular form for something that defies convention. Yet, this bold move is not supported by the flavors within. The dough, which should be the foundation of any reputable pizza, arrives with an underwhelming presence—doughy, undercooked, and lacking the charred notes of a wood-fired lineage.
The service, while delivered with a smile, falters in execution, leading to a mismatch between expectation and reality. A complaint was necessary to rectify the billing for a pizza that failed to deliver on its promise.
Gone are the days when patrons could witness the artistry of pizza-making at the front of the house, the dough dancing in the hands of the pizzaiolo, the flames of the wood/gas oven licking the edges of what would become a crispy, yet tender crust.
This transformation, I regret to say, has not been for the better. It is with a heavy heart that I must declare my last visit to this establishment as just that—the last. The question of a return is met with a resolute negative. The search for the quintessential pizza continues elsewhere. I would avoid, if...
Read moreWe ate here on the first night of our stay. Our waiter was great, but very busy even though the restaurant wasn't. We shared a prawn starter... I can't open the menu from the website to specify what it was called, however it was similar to deep fried battered prawn balls you would see on a menu in a chinese restaurant. The batter was very thick and the prawns tiny. My daughter and I ordered pizza and fries to share. It took around an hour to appear and I kid you not, the cheese on the pizza was (like🤔) squares of burger cheese. They had no gluten free options and so my husband ordered some sort of potato wedges, both they and the fries were luke warm and the fries soggy. A very disappointing start to...
