Praia dos Olhos de Água is a delightful beach located in the heart of the beautiful Algarve region in Portugal. Here are some highlights: The name “Olhos de Água” translates to “eyes of water,” which refers to the sweet water springs rising on the beach and under the surface of the sea. Gorgeous Beach: The sandy cove is used by both locals and tourists alike. It’s a small beach, but its beauty is undeniable. Visitors appreciate the calm waters and golden sands. .Charming Beach: The town centers around a sandy cove where fishing boats rest on golden sands. Old fishermen tend their nets in huts along the beach, creating a picturesque scene. Pristine Coastline: Olhos de Água retains its Portuguese character and offers a relaxed atmosphere. While there are massive apartment complexes and mega-hotels surrounding the town, the center maintains its charm and authenticity. Nearby Attractions: Olhos de Água is close to other stunning beaches like Praia da Falésia (backed by orange cliffs) and Praia Maria Luísa. Plus, it’s just 4 km away from the lively nightlife of Albufeira. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing holiday or want to explore the Algarve, Olhos de Água is a great choice! 🏖️

We visited this beach in the week and there were only a few people here, not too busy so that was a nice surprise. We also went on a hike after and the paths are 5/5 couldn’t recommend more if you’re going to this area, definitely go on a few hikes! It’s so worth it! And then we went to the nearby town which was a bit more touristy so we had lunch and got an Uber back to our hotel. The waters were clean yet had a lot of moss floating around which was a strange texture yet natural though. Very clean, has cafe and toilets but you have to eat at the cafe to use the toilets as they provide you a code to get in, overall very nice though.

Fantastic quiet beach but bare in mind I visited in late December (Christmas week). The entire week it was so peaceful, quiet and not many people around at all. An introverts dream 🥰🙌🏼 There was no sunbeds, umbrellas, rubbish or screaming humans - just peace 👌🏼✨ the beach was just fantastic and the views were amazing. Beautiful waves all around, ideal to just sit and read a book 📖 lovely sunsets at night too. Really picturesque. Christmas Day was the only time I seen the beach busy even at that it wasn’t overcrowded just Portuguese people with all their kids. Overall, highly recommend if you want somewhere peaceful to go.

Olhos de Agua is a vibrant little town on the outskirts of Albufeira, centered around the Eyes of Water Beech. The beech itself is quite small, and can become busy and is named after two freshwater springs which bubble up on to the beech and can be seen (and drank from) at low tide, There are interesting rock formations and stunning scenery from a small promontory to the eastern side of the beech. There are a number of restaurants, bars and shops very close to the beech selling absolutely everything you might need for a day of relaxation! - all at very reasonable prices.

Great little beach in Olhos d'Agua - reminiscent of Fisherman's Beach many years ago with boats still landing on the beach. We call it mini-Albufeira! Some great restaurants serving some of the best fish in the area, several bars for drinks and snacks and lots of beach-goods and souvenir shops. At low tide rock pools are exposed so you can walk over these to Falesia beach and on to Vilamoura. As it's a small beach it does get extremely busy in summer.

Beautiful, small beach with fishing boats pulled up onto a hard standing at the back. Very popular with the locals who come down to sun bathe and swim later in the day. Plenty of small, friendly bars without feeling commercialised and touristy. This was my 5th holiday in Olhos D'Agua and it is a most wonderful place on The Algarve to stay. If you hate busy, noisy, tacky resorts you'll love it. I holiday where you can chill and unwind.
