Ristorante Pizzeria S. Martino Olhos de Água — Restaurant in Albufeira

We have been coming to this place for the last few years, same time of year and every time it has been excellent. We tried this year and it was appalling. We waited to be seated and no one came to us, we then asked if we could take a seat after standing in the entrance way for around ten mins. We were seated, given menus and then left to decide. No one came back to us to take our drinks order. We waited 20mins and we asked two different staff members if we could order and both said in a minute or acknowledged us but then never came back to take our order. 40mins later and we still hadn’t ordered a thing, even though the restaurant was not full and did not seem to be busy. The staff that had said would come back proceeded to clear tables around us even though no one was waiting to be seated. We decided to leave, I approached a different staff member to say we were leaving as no one had been to take any orders yet. He said ok. I couldn’t believe it, that was it. So I proceeded to say, we’ve been coming here for year and we love the place, we have never left your restaurant unhappy, why do you seem unbothered by the fact that I am an unhappy regular customer with a party of 5. He just said he was busy. I said but you have not even taken our drinks order or advised us that you’re busy and there is a wait time. He just said I’m busy. We left. Such a shame. I did wonder if it had changed hands, although the name is the same the menu this year is different and the regular staff members we’ve met before...

We arrived at 8:30 and ordered at 8:45. We received our starters at 10:15. On 3 separate occasions I went up to the waiter and asked them where our starters were, I got told each time it would be a minute and he'd be back over with an update, not once was an update provided. There were multiple tables in the restaurant experiencing the same. We are still sat waiting for the manager to come talk and we haven't been offered anything as an apology and the waiters rude response is just "I am busy". This is so poor and I wouldn't recommend anyone bothers visiting here.

Update: We have since spoken to the manager and had our drinks comped as an apology. We now also have all our food over 2 hours later and the pizza is really nice. However the foccacia leaves something to be desired. This was not an isolated issue as I mentioned and 2 tables worth of people left due to waiting the same as us for some pizzas. Appalling service. Waited nearly two hours for a starter. No one came to speak to us. Asked a waiter 3 times for an update on the food and each time he said to wait and he would update us. No one came over and said anything. No one came to check on us or ask us if we wanted more drinks. When spoken to about the delay they blamed being busy but were capable of getting food out to people who got to the restaurant after we did. Other people experienced the same problems whilst we were there. Would not come again if my life depended on it.

Update: The manager comped the drinks as an apology. The food did arrive eventually and tasted nice but was not worth the wait.
