Café Convívio — Restaurant in Aveiro

What a horrible experience. I knew this place for 20 years ago, one of the best in town at that time. Now it became a purely commercialized scene where they serve horrendous food.

I asked for a burger which came completely raw and with a strange taste. I asked to make it medium to well done. For my surprise they served again the original burger which was re-cooked and became very rude when I asked for a new one.

For the taste, they said it is normal because they use a mixture of different meat types...

Extremely disappointed by the new look and feel of Convívio. What was before a cosy, familiar café/restaurant is now a art deco open space with (imo) a lack of personality that the previous venue had. You enter the place and you're immediately bombarded by an intensive cigarette cloud and smoke before actually getting to a cleaner area. The staff continues the same nice people and has an added benefit of having a background terrace where you can chill. Too bad for the rest...

Great bar, staff are attentive and polite. Drinks are cheap and yes you can smoke inside! Food is also served here but i did not get the chance to try the menu. However it did look and smell great! This place was recommended by a friend and I would also recommend it. Pool tables and outdoor seating also available. P.s coming from the UK I was amazed to see cigarette vending...
