What a SCAM! It couldn't be worse. We paid extra for a bigger room with a great view of the city and all we could see was a huge building just across the street. The hotel is nowhere near the city centre, but the ad said you had nice views outside of the window. The room was standard, almost small, it was nowhere near as big as the booking described. When I went to talk to the staff, the person at the desk laughed at me, said that I do have views. I took a picture of said views and went back downstairs with the description of the room opened on my phone. First, the guy said that he did not understand the description, then he took my phone and started googling words... and then he laughed at me again and said: "the building is part of the city, so there goes the view of the city from your room". He added that there weren't bigger rooms, I showed him the pictures of the room in the booking page. His solution was "I will talk to the booking company because I don't know anything about that". Those pictures are also on a poster inside the elevator... I advised they should change the descriptions of their rooms and update the pictures, because he was saying it was Booking.com's fault but the rooms were of that hotel... I asked for a solution since the price for the room we got, as per the description and images of the booking page, did not match the room they gave us, which was available to book at a lower prize on the same website. So since they were not giving us the room they promised, they over-charged us. But the man said no, sorry and just walked away. I asked for the manager, "he was not there". Then we had trouble with the fridge and the answer was "it's something the hotel provides but you don't pay for, if it doesn't work, bad luck". Same thing the next morning. wanted to talk to the manager but we were told there was nobody else there. I had to insist when asking for the complaint book, since the woman at the desk that morning was saying that "her college told her he solved it yesterday" when he solved nothing, and she just trying to avoid me every time I...
Read moreI would avoid this hotel. I booked it in December through the Expedia. I was supposed to be there for 2 nights. However, I only stayed one night. In the morning, after my first (and only) night, I wanted to to take a shower and brush my teeth. Brown water came out of the faucet in the bathtub. I tried the sink and it was teh same. I packd my bags andwent downstairs to inform the desk clerk I was checking out. Before, I even said anything, he knew about the water issue. Why wouldn't you call the rooms and warn the guests? Who wants a surprise brown water shower?||The desk clerk said it wasn't the hotel's fault and that it was because work was being done outside. I understood, but also explained to him that I cannot stay in a room with brown water coming out of the faucets. After a while, he said the problem was fixed. But, there was no way, I was going to brush my teeth or shower, having no idea what was actaully in that water.||I reached out to Expedia for a refund. This dragged on awhile but I never received a refund because the hotel either did not respond to the request or did not feel that I should have received a refund. Any establishment should have areasonable policy when it comes to customers/ guests. I think brown water coming out of the faucets is a good reason to refund a customer. You may stay and enjoy the property. But just know that if for any reason something goes wrong, you may not be...
Read moreThe hotel has an excellent location for shopping, eating, and the train station. We had our luggage forwarded to this location as we walked the Camino, and it was there waiting for us when we arrived. Easy, courteous checkin. There is a one-person/luggage elevator available. My room on the first floor had high-ceilings, lots of sunlight, and a wonderful view. The bathroom was spacious, mixing old with new. The bed was very comfortable, the room quiet. Breakfast is an efficient and adequate buffet served in a room downstairs. Coffee machines, toasters, meat and cheeses, fruits, yogurts, cereals, etc. All buffet - nothing cooked to order, ie no eggs, etc. It worked for us. ||||I must add that we had a couple of injuries in our 8-person group, due to walking the coastal Portuguese Camino. The staff were very helpful answering questions about medical attention, calling cabs,...
