Café Santa Cruz — Restaurant in Braga

Service was terrible and not proactive at all. Had to ask for everything. The drinks arrived, but the beer bottle was still capped. It took about 5 minutes for the waiter to uncap it. Then he forgot to ask if we wanted something to eat.

After drinking my coffee, it came to my attention that my food was not arriving. So I decided to move on and just pay for my drinks. After insisting that I did not intend to pay for a couple of meals that I never received, I managed to finish business. I left the building and realized that I paid for a second coffee that I did not order. The waiter screwed me over for an extra euro.

I had money. I tried very hard to be nice. I patiently waited for more than 30 minutes. Perhaps this poor service could be attributed to a language barrier as I do not speak Portugese. Or maybe they are simply not fond...

The waitress was extremely rude, showing no attention or kindness towards customers. No idea of the basics of the hospitality industry. What is worse, she provided different treatment to customers of different nationalities. There are many great cafes in Braga but with this kind of service this is definitely not one. I come to Braga every year and used to go to this cafe occasionally for years, but from now on will always avoid it, which is a pity given its...

You will not be impressed by the food, by the patience or helpfulness of the waitresses, and, by all means, you will not be impressed at all with the service. The worst possible part is reserved for people from Brazil. If you happen to be Brazilian - and expect a barely acceptable service - pretend to be from somewhere else. Experience to forget!
