I had high hopes for Churchill Restaurant given its stunning location in Câmara de Lobos, but unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. While the setting is undeniably beautiful, that’s about where the positives end.

Service was inattentive and unprofessional. We noticed the waiter selecting fish for our meal while we were seated — seemingly trying to pick the smaller ones, which felt misleading and disappointing.

The food itself was underwhelming. The mista de peixe lacked any real flavor and was poorly seasoned. The amêijoas (clams) came mostly empty — just shells with barely any meat inside. For the high prices charged, the quality simply didn’t match up.

We had ordered a lobster and they decided to bring it out right after everyone finished their meals. We had tried to cancel 20 minutes earlier because it took too long and they refused to let us cancel.
