I have been living in the area for 40 years and Pastorinha has always been my special restaurant, a place for special occasions, for feeling rich. During the pandemic we stopped going everywhere, and even before that we had spent a while not going. Last Tuesday we decided to celebrate my son's 45th birthday there and so my husband, me and our son booked and went. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The food took about 1 hour to arrive and all that time the waiters just brought to the table a basket with some bread slices and small toasts, nothing else. There was no piano player anymore and it was not chic at all, just rather noisy. Cheap candles were on the tables. We chose our food and while we were waiting, they did not even bring butter, cheese or dips, as the exaggerated price would require. Just those bread slices. Sometimes one of the two waitresses that were nearby came by and as they were Brazilian and didn't fully understand Portuguese, if we said something that they did not get, they would reply, too colloquially "Oi??", which we disliked a lot. We were very tired and hungry by 9 PM when the food finally arrived and to our dismay it was absolutely nothing special (steak and fries, fish fillets and grilled fish). The steak was almost raw and dripping blood and the fries were cold. It had to go back and be replaced by something edible. The fish dishes were totally normal and featured no special presentation or decoration, just plain dishes as in any other neighborhood restaurant. There are much better choices in the area both in terms of ambiance as food and even sea view. Never again. Burial of a...
Read moreI want to share an incredible experience my family and I had recently at a hidden gem just a few minutes away from our home. We've been fortunate enough to dine at numerous restaurants around the world, including some Michelin-rated ones, but this place truly stands out in ways many others do not.
First and foremost, the service was absolutely impeccable. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive staff. A special shoutout goes to our fantastic Garson, Clemente Branco, who made our evening even more memorable with his exceptional service. When you know great service, you just know it!
The restaurant also boasts an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean, which added a magical touch to our dining experience. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, from the starters to the mains to the desserts. The seafood quality was simply unmatched, and we could taste the difference in every dish.
And let's not forget about the wine! The Portuguese wine collection was just impeccable, featuring selections from D.O.C to Alentejo and Douro. Each glass perfectly complemented our meal and added to the overall experience.
To top it all off, there was a beautiful piano playing in the background, adding a soothing and elegant ambiance to our evening. My kids and I only have the best things to say about this hidden gem, and we can't wait to visit again.
If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking out this amazing restaurant. It's truly a dining experience you won't...
Read moreGreat location. Located at the marginal road, from Lisbon to Cascais, close the the st. Julião forte. Great for a cocktail after work on their outdoors lounge, watch the sunset! Wait! The new management says you can't! Only if you stay for dinner. So, we sat down on the lounge for a drink. Terrible service. Not even a coaster on the table for our glasses. Then the dinner. The veal loin with vegetables. I must say, the loin was superb! Cooked in to perfection, medium rare, juice and tasty. To top off the meal, the chocolate mousse layer cake. It doesn't look much on the outside. More like a dark roasted cookery disaster. But, I know this cake for years and it's just mind boggling.. Fluffy, wet chocolate goodness in your mouth, it saves the day! This is the kind of mixed review, difficult to make my mind between the 3 and the 4 stars. The staff is kind and collected. The location is great, the food was good, the price is ok for the location, but the lack of outdoor lounge service is kind of deturrent...
